Easy ISO Startup Kit 3.1 (2.71 SE READY) NEW!!!

Here is basically a compilation of all the tools nessisary to dump, modify, and prepair your PSP to run ISOs, and the 2 loaders that will run all the games (DAX and DevHook). Not much else to say, this should help out some of the newbies ;)!

UPDATE: Uploaded 3.0, it's for users of 2.71 SE firmware. No fuss install, if you have 2.71 SE install, just copy the files to the memory stick and you are ready to go!

UPDATE: I switched 2.0 and 3.0 that had New UMD Dumper over to DAX Dumper, it is a much better tool. The tool originally included gave me bad dumps for GTA when testing with 2.71SE, then I tested on a 1.5 and it did the same (I originally backed up my GTA with FASTLOADER) so I decided to find another tool. This should fix any issues anyone is having trying to make dumps and them not working ;)! The tool I originally had included in the package I had not used since I backed up Tenchu for my GF.

It is not, I just put together all the basics. I might include that later when a new devhook comes out if BOOSTER doesn't fix it, don't really feel the need to upload a new copy. I will link to it later tonight or something ;)!

Couple of questions. Can you make a new one with Devhook 41d? And, for some reason, this version of devhook doesn't show up the 2.xx->2.50 option, but another random preconfigured version from Usenet does. Not sure why, as I followed the instructions in the text file you included.

Hmmm....odd...I used the DevHook 0.41d package O.o...I'll take a look at it when I get home.

thanks for the info and files.....i had a prob in not dumping 2.5 firmware properly, till i found the pbp unpacker... got confused with this bit "1. Use PBP Unpacker and open the 2.5 update EBOOT.PBP" if came zipped so used winrar.assumed pbp unpacker was similar but how wrong i was LOL. it means when u have opened the file to get the EBOOT.PBP us pbp to extract the files within to the memory card............how dopey of me to not see that straght away

It should restart in 2.6 mode if you are doing things right. Can you PM me a more detailed description of pics/vids if possible?

PSPWAD I am having the same problem, trying to use ISO of worms, it is a complete dump, dumped with new umd dumper, then just put in the iso folder, after it reboots it never goes to xmb, it just turns off??

pspwad ive sorted it ,i was usin a copy of dev hook which for sme reason wasnt wrkin,now got a version which was bundled with a game download...also i was using a video umd,now using a game umd and alls fine thank god..dont know if its the new dh or the game umd but workin so im happy,thanks for reply tho,no doubt ill need more help in the future....cheers

Dax in this rar is completely skewed. It is way different than the one in the dax thread and does not work.

The files that are supposed to be in the /psp/game/daxziso folder are in the /ms_root/dh folder. and the data.bin is missing.

I'm not sure what you are talking about, I just redownloaded the one off the site, and everything is in the proper places. Also, daxziso folder was renamed to __SCE__DAXZISO, and that works properly. I'm not really sure how your files got moved around, because even a corrrupt rar wouldn't do that O.o....

If your PSP is 1.5 you can run homebrew, this stuff IS a homebrew, it will not ALLOW you to run homebrew if you already cannot (it's not a downgrader). I also need to update it ^_^;;;

I have downloaded the easy iso startup kit and everyhting works fine until i try and load my backed up iso of ridge racer. I have 1.50 firmware. Do i have to update my firmware to 2.71 through the mph loader first? And if i do, could you Please tell me how and where to put the eboot.pbp file? My original ridge racer umd works fine with 1.50 firmware. Please help me.

First off, MPH firmware loader will NOT work with anything above 2.5. Second, you do NOT update your firmware with it, and third, it SHOULD run under 2.71 emulation mode in devhook, are you running in 2.71 mode in devhook? Give me more details about what you are running and how you are trying to run the game.

Ok, so I can run Katamari by running RunUMD v0.8c but then I have to run devhook firmware 2.7 after I load the game, to get it to work.

RunUMD and UMD Emulator are old methods, the BEST method is DevHook, and the package I have uploaded includes that and DAX (just in case) and everything needed to get yourself started with dumping your UMDs and playing them all back with DevHook.

I don't really need runumd I just use devhook now, at first it wasn't working, but now it does... anyway, still can't get Dangerous game hunter to work, or SF Alpha, and for all my games I need a UMD in the drive...

If you want to run ISOs you have two options, either downgrade to 1.5 and use the EASYISO 2.1 package, or downgrade to 1.5, then install 2.71 SE and use the EASYISO 3.1 package.

After trying to get ANY/EVERY loader or emulator to work, ive wiped out my memory stick (4GB) again and started from scratch with your "starter kit"

I copied all the files over to the correct places
I do not have, cant find reboot 2.6bin
I used the devhook installer sucessfully, I pressed exit when it asked if i wanted to copy my registry(dont know if this was right or wrong)

My firmware reads 2.0
On previous tries, Ive gotten my firmware to read 1.5, downgrade wasnt an issue and shouldnt be if i have to do it again

Now Im at a loss
None of the games I have above will run from any of the software included in the download. Pretty much I get the same result as always, I set the settings and hit start and the PSP just turns off.

Im almost ready to throw this thing across the room lol

You should just need the ISO Dumper included to dump your own ISOs, I need to update and remove DevHook from the Custom Firmware package...

You MUST have a PS3 to purchase these items. My suggestion is for you if you HAVE a legal copy of any of the PSX games you want to play, go to the hacks/exploits section, and there is a PSX Emulation section which contains details on how to make your own EBOOT for a PSX games ;)! If Sony can't stop trying to rip off it's customers, they are going to not have hardly anyone buying those games :(! I hope this doesn't happen, because most likely the support for the emulator in the firmware will not be worked on anymore.

We are going to need some more info here. When you say you have V2.71 is this the standard Sony Firmwire or a Custom Firmwire? If it is just the standard Sony then I would first suggest downgrading to V1.5 and then up to Either V3.02OE-A` or V3.02OE-B. not sure which is better yet. But I do know you need to use Custom Firmwire in order to do this. Just search around and you will find what you need.

Ok ok i figured it out, first i downgraded it to 1.5, (im sure u can look around these forums for the link because i forgot it), Then i upgraded to custom firmware 3.03oe A. Then i upgraded again to 3.03oe B. From there, i ripped my isos, and in the MSROOT, which is the folder that opens right when u open your memory stick onto the psp, you put a folder named ISO. In this folder you put ur ripped isos, or csos. To play them, you go to game in the psp menu, then go down to memory stick.

ADVICE: If it isnt there, turn off your psp fully. Then as you turn it back on hold R. This will take you to the recovery menu. Go to configurations, and put the Kernel to 1.5. REMEMBER YOU HAVE TO HAVE 3.03oe B, and read all the stuff here and around the forums before you upgrade or downgrade, cuz i dont want you to brick ur psp. :)

Hopefully ur backing up ur own umds, piracy is not permitted in the forums. So if you are backing them up, maybe you did something wrong.

When u installed 3.03oe c did u have a SYSTEM folder in the GAME folder? Because when i switched memory sticks from 1gb to 2gb, my isos didnt work until i copied that folder to GAME.

Yes you can upgrade directly to 3.02 oe-a directly. You can just download the file and read the readme.txt first. It gives exact instructions. Sadly, it only gives instructions on how to download but not playing backup ISOs. lol.

Piracy is wrong, and please dont download games from internet.
I use CFW for emulators, homebrew apps, plugins, and Pandora modding.
I'm not really dependent on ISO anymore.

But if you want to go to the other direction, that's your choice.
Ok, if you want easy ISO loading just update to 3.90 m33-3 (use whatever method possible to update) and change
UMD Mode in M33 Recovery Menu (press R at boot up, and go to Configuration) to SONY NP9660 or M33 No-UMD.

Then you load your LEGAL game back-ups from ISO folder.

That's all it takes to load games of MemoryStick.
I'm just telling anybody how to load ISO, but I am NOT ENCOURAGING piracy (since it is wrong!)

*And BTW, ISO loading isn't that good on 2.71 SE, so 2.71 SE users: update to M33 custom firmware(using any method) to enjoy easier ISO loading, more NO-UMD modes, and support for the latest games released.
