Someone has published ten reasons as to why the Wii could fail (not too sure of the original source). They include reasons for potential wii failure such as not having solid launch titles, not launching earlier than the PS3 and the graphics barely improving in the future.

1. Major Franchises that have gimmicky controls.

2. Not having solid titles after the launch window.

3. The Touch-Generation series should make it’s way to Wii early on.

4. Not launching earlier than the PS3 is a problem.

5. If graphics barely improve overtime.

6. Nintendo needs to keep the price at around or less than $199.

7. Too many game delays.

8. Lack of promotions of games like WiiSports and even the Web Browser till launch.

9. Not tackling North America first.

10. Attacking the competition.

yeah and there's about 5,000 reasons why it couldn't fail. what a stupid waste of time and speculation, brainpower, ect... why not think of some reasons why other things could fail while we're at it? sounds like a grand ol time to me... let's just think about ways things can fail, how productive!!

With Zelda at launch and Mario at the beginning of 2007....?

No official launch dates have been given for either of them, but most people think Wii will be launched earlier then the PS3.

Kind of stupid to give an exact number of how much it should cost, with a price under $250, the Wii is the cheapest of all consoles (and much cheaper then the PS3).

7. Too many game delays.
Surely this is a problem for any game platform.

9. Not tackling North America first.
This is a typical American point of view. Just because a console might not be the biggest player in (the almighty) America doesn't mean it has failed. The asian market is big enough to give solid support to a console.

Everyone one knows that Nintendo is going to sell the Wii. And a ton of Wii's will be sold in Japan. The Wii can lose to the 360 and PS3 and still not be a failure.

dont know it had some possible reasons.

for one people dont want games where they have to read its manual to find out what the remote does in the game.

Unlike ps3/360 the controllers are simlar and any gamer whos played a xbox or a playstation can pick up the pad, insert a game and know what doesn what.

the one i like is about the Wiis graphics, i would have expected nintendo to actually put some effort into the console but no theyve decided to go a easy fast money way and make a big deal over the controller.

controllers dont mean ****, its the actuall game, if it doesnt look impresive youll get bored.

the wii is INDEED a HUGE mess. the control sche is not for everyone. sure its fun for a while but the casual gamer is not going to come home from work and flail his arms about like a madman playing mario.

not when halo3, f.e.a.r, farcry predator, gears of war, mgs 4, final fantasy 13, and other big name titles are available BIGGER and BETTER on other consoles....

even the sonic for the wii looks like an embarassment when compared to the GORGEOUSNESS and mind numbing speed thrill of looking at the unreal 3 engine powered sonic games on the 360 and the ps3.

after the initial few months and the initial mario and zeldas. wii is going to become anothergamecube. actually it could be worse.

I think the most uninformed about the Wii, jsut see is about "waving arms" , is the only thing their brain can think about, I guess their creativity went to " beleleleu" after playing too much Halo and too much nonsense of shoot me this and that, on whatevr PC or console. Very lame indeed.
About the "GORGEOUSNESS" ( ahem..) is this a teenager with a lack of mothercare on its chlidhood which brought him to a difficult and controversial non-mature enough logic concepts about gaming without a support from subjective points of view...;) ?

ill get the wii. but only AFTER its been modded. cause frankly nintendo is NOT worth my money. i got the lamecube after 3 years and now i own the entire exclusive library. on dvdr.

MOST games are watered down on the ds. theyre frankly horrible. and the ones that are worth someting are nintendogs, mario kart and metroid. and even they get stupid after a while. brain training? space invaders? TETRIS? sheesh....

the gamecube has the same trend. games have lesser content and the controller is awkward.

but at the end of the day this is my opinion. i want nintendo to go down and get bought out by microsoft. because id ont buy into their hype. sure i loved them as a kid. but after the n64 disaster and the OVER-OVER-OVER HORRENDOUSLY OVERRATED mario 64 and ocarina of time what do u have on the n64? barely 5-10 games. the gc has even less worthy games.

the fact is i have the ENTIRE game library for nes, snes, n64, gameboy, gameboy color, gameboy advance, and an sp, the gamecube and the ds so far. and after the snes nintendo just dropped the ball for me.

i find myself playing my sega consoles and sony consoles and xbox more often. and MOSTLY the pc. sure my collection is not legit. but i DO have the ENTIRE collections for EACH AND EVERY major console thats been released ever since gaming started.

and i know my opinion is not like every other piece of garbage out there. but hey its my opinion. and its different. wouldnt want it any other way.

Second, I am happy you don't like the "unworthy" Nintendo, and buy the Product anyway :eek: , after get modded, or whatever, at the end, Nintendo is a Toy company, so they thank your Purchase. :D ( unless you are stealing ...)

It is this kind of small minded naive thinking that has led to a poor state of affairs in the game industry, where people wait years for the next installment of halo, fifa, GTA, or other big brand games. Any true gamer knows that it is the gameplay that makes the game, graphics add to this.

If you want amazing graphics then get a PC that really pushes the boundaries of graphics, in a couple of years there will be game coming out on PC that will eclipse anything on Xbox360 or PS3, there is even games like that now.

Anyway, Nintendo have said time and time again, Wii is not about HiDef super duper plus ultra amazing out of this world graphics, but the gameplay.
