ok heres the deal guys I NEED HELP!
i am no good with computer and or techincal terms that go with computers! i am trying to simply connect to the internet on my psp and dont know how to do it! i name the connection and see that there is multiple connections that are at 100% (connectivity im guessing) and as im going through it, it asks for SSID!? i have no clue what that means or wants me to put...im at work and think that i am connecting to somones wireless router and dont know what to do about the code it wants? what am i doing wrong? is there anyway around this? how do i get these codes or names?
thanks for looking and hopefully helping! im just really computer illiterate and have read through the manual too many times now to still be being confused as to what i do...so i figured i would ask for a simplified answer!
thanks again

hey,
when it asks for SSID, this is the name of the network. so look, do this:
go to network settings and then infrastructure mode. then name the connection, then the ssid screen comes up. its simple, just select SCAN on that screen where it asks for SSID, then you select the connection you need and set the rest of the options to AUTOMATIC. thats it.
if you need more help feel free to reply back!

ok man im going to sound really stupid but how do i get to network settings to set up infrastructure mode? i can name the connection anything i want? and the only place i see scan is where it says WLAN settings? this im guessing is used to search for the names of SSID. and when it asks for security settings i have three options sometimes and sometimes it doesnt ask for security setting these options include WEP, WPA-PSK (tkip) what do i do here? im guessing keeping address settings at easy is what i should set it up as? and after creating everything this is what it loos like although at home i only have a 15% connectivity.
SSID: linksys
Security: NONE
IP address: Automatic
Subnet mask: automatic
Default Router: automatic
Primary DNS: automatic
Proxy Server: do not use
Internet Browser: do not start (<dont understand that one at all)
I also sometimes get error 80410d07 for what ever reason
I really appreciate your help!

but can you connect to the internet? also, what is the name of your SSID (the name that comes up in the list where you select connections)

hey,
if you are setting up connections exactly my way and STILL get errors, it is likely your work's etwork os guarded by a WEP key, which is a security key used to prevent unauthorised access to networks. this is probably your problem occuring. If you dont know their key, or encryption method, im afraid you may not be able to connect! sorry but its either their key or your own netowork at home.

Buddy of mine had verizon dsl and he had a cable modem that was wireless. all i did was get within the range of the signal (next to it or outside in the street lol) set up your ifrastructure settings to automatic.....then hit the browser or try to go online with a game....the psp scans the area for a signal and picks it up.

another friend of mine also had wireless, but he had some pc prog that blocked incoming connections....so try and go into infrastructure setup and choose to SCAN...it will pickup all nearby signals and show you if they have security or not.

yea, you can get this wifi max. but are you sure you dont have other devices with wireless capabilities? i mean, do you have another computer? a PDA? if you dont have anything else but 1 computer and 1 psp, this is perfect for you!
