for me anyway..
I updated my PSP to 2.6 today
I've had enough of waiting and waiting to play a game I paid for and I'm even more tired of browsing the forums and all I see are people making posts and discussing the downloaded ISO they've got and all their problems that they are having trying to get the game to work..
the only reason I like ISO's are because
1)load times are faster and
2)my battery doesn't get as drained
but it just seems that things are going to **** around here =( which makes me sad and angry. So I figured I'd update and get away from the stigma..
that and I can XLink Kai my Monster hunter and play online with people instead of downloading an ISO and playing the game solo..
So if anyone who owns Monster Hunter and is updated to 2.6 wants to play, give me a shout and we can test it out or something sometime. And Until the modchip comes out I guess I'm a 2.6FW PSP owner. Had some good times with the homebrew apps and games. Nearly beat Quake 1 again lol
Cheers to all the good people left on the forums, and those who've helped me in the past. I'll still be around making the odd post and helping answer questions when I can. Good luck =)

I'm amazed at how fast the forums just went downhill..
so much for a tight group.. instead we've got ISO drifters wandering in and getting the info they need to get their BitTorrented ISO's to work on their PSP's mommy and daddy bought them..
=/ should just buy another
if only life was that simple.. 280 bucks is alot to spend out on a second PSP when there's bills and rent to be paid.
the PSP scene is dieing anyway. thats why im getting of my psp.
well it's not really dying.. people are just too lazy to pay the cash for the UMDs and the pirates are taking over the forums..alot of great games on the PSP, and its a hella sweet media center.
but in anycase.. I now need to figure out why my PSP shut off while I was listening to MP3's at work and now won't turn back on...
anyone had that problem? When I hit the power switch the power light turns green for a half a second then it goes out... and it's hooked up to the AC adapter too..

You can still use 99% of all hmoebrew on 2.6 with GTA Eboot loader. I am 2.6 and happy i think it's perfect, i don't play "back-ups" anyway. I used to but not anymore. I can play all games and all homebrew. I am a happy gamer.

Yeah I paid 398 Canadian for the PSP Giga Pack, a new plain PSP costs 250 or so right now with taxes
You can still use 99% of all hmoebrew on 2.6 with GTA Eboot loader
I'm going to be looking into this =) I never paid much attention to it before. So I'm glad to hear that =) thanks

hey demrok,
you said you were playing mp3's and your psp turned off, not turning back on. just tell me, when you flick the switch on, is there any reaction? does the green light come on or not. if the light comes on, and then the psp turns itself off, something might be wrong. well in both cases, take out the battery and also the memory stick. put only the battery back in after about 30 seconds. then try turning it on. its a very popular problem that many have had.
hope this works for you man!

yup I've tried every combination of things possible..
the green power light turns on for half a second when I flick the power switch
it does that when the battery is in and when I have the PSP plugged into the AC adapter too..
I've tried leaving the battery out over night, putting the battery in at different angles, charging the battery outside of the PSP for 4 hoursand putting it back in.. holding the power switch up for more then 15 seconds... nothing works..
the power light still only flashes for a half a second and then goes off..
PSP doesn't light up like it's turning on, it just stays black..
doesn't look good >< taking it back to EB tomorrow..

hey,
yea it looks bricked man. yea just get it replaced from EB, theyll do it.
wierd though, how could it get bricked by playing mp3's? doesnt matter, youll get a new one instead.;)

WELL! went to EB and here in Canada apparently their return policy is 14 days on open product (for exchange)
pretty lame dates, a friend in Florida that works at an EB says theirs is 90 days..
but anyway.. guy told me if I bought an Extended warranty for 25 bucks he could swap me PSPs for a brand new one
so I did, and the warranty now covers the new PSP, so if crap like this happens again I just go back to EB and exchange it there =) so PSP was a 2.5 =( but oh well it works =)
