First PS3s will be for Europe

While it seems European gamers always get the short end of the stick when it comes to the world of gaming, things all look to have taken a turn for the better with not only the <a href="http://www.maxconsole.net/?mode=news&newsid=7354" target="_blank">Black DS Lite</a> hitting Europe soon, but Sony CEO David Reeves said he expects that the first batch of PS3's made will be Europe-bound!

In an exclusive interview with MCV, the Euro boss moved to reassure the industry of SCE’s newfound commitment to Europe – but admitted that some European territories may only be allocated ‘small seed’ numbers of the console for day one.

“I hope we will be day and date with US and I hope that we’ll get the same quantities as US as well,” said Reeves. “I don't think we’ll be disadvantaged. In fact I believe the first PS3s being manufactured are being made for Europe – which is a first."

“Between November 17th and December 31st we'll hope to put them in as many European territories as we can, even if we have to place small seed quantities on day one."

sOOOOO nott fair. what the hell. since when is europe suppposed to be gettin things first? lol. japan, then north america, then europe, its not supposed to change, its supposed to stay like that, lol.

Didn't they do a similar deal with the PS2? When that was initially released, a batch was available to Europeans around November-ish time, and then officially released in europe a few months later.

But he, At least Nintendo is doing us a favor and giving us a black ds lite (should fit right to my japanese enamel navy one)

On the other hand, Sony knows the european market is not to be underestimated and i bet in the future china will become a mayor player in when a console wil be released there and in the rest of the world.

does it really matter who gets the first batch ... though it was a worldwide release ... everyone gets it the same day??

Only diff is time zones so yeah people will have it hours before others but on that same day everyone will be getting it. I believe Europe getting them first is because they start the day off before japan and US does... correct me if im wrong with this.

This is where they go wrong and loose out.

me im one of the last to get my hands on anything (because im in UK) and it tempts me to import the same console for cheaper and this makes the uk units sold drop.

i think games/consoles should be released worldwide (at the same time) to make it fair on us all.

remember that first components will be produced outside japan guess where .... in china.... now i dont want to be first... i want damn jap console !!
