Ok, its taken me a while to figure this out and trust me ive had a hard time. So now ive got it going i thought id write a step by step tutorial because it seems a lot of people are having problems. This may not work for everyone, but it was the ONLY way that worked for me.
Lets get one thing clear - You DO NOT need windows to see your drive - only BIOS.
1. Power up your 360 DVD drive.
2. Unplug CD rom drives (DVD's etc) from your PC, leave a SATA hard drive plugged in.
3. Create a bootable DOS floppy disk http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm and also unzip Mtkflasher to the same floppy disk.
4. Put the disk in and restart your PC.
5. When the DOS prompt is up (A:\) you need to unplug the SATA hard drive and plug in your TS-H943(basically a hot-swap).
6. Type A:\mtkflash r /m orig.bin - (assuming that A is your floppy drive). It will then prompt you to pick 1 or 2. You will see which one it is as your hard drive will be listed - NOTHING ELSE.
7. After you have chosen it will take about 30 seconds to dump your firmware onto the floppy as orig.bin. KEEP THIS SAFE.
8. Turn off your PC and plug the hard drive back in. Turn it on.
9. Next open orig.bin up in a hex editor (loads of freebies on google) and highlight the values from range 4000 to 4200. Right click on them and copy.
10. Open up the xtreme.bin firmware in another hex editor window and simply highlight the same values and paste. Click save(not save as) and you now have your patched firmware - ready to flash.
11. Put the xtreme.bin firmware onto the floppy disk, leave it in and reboot.
12. Back at the DOS prompt, unplug your hard drive and plug in your TS-H943 drive.
13. Type A:\mtkflash w /m xtreme.bin - It'll take about 30 seconds to flash it.
Dont forget to plug the SATA cable from 360 to TS-943(i did, shat myself).
I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOU FOLLOWING THIS GUIDE, YOU DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK. HOPE IT HELPS.
