Rumour: No PS3 Pre Orders Til October at Gamestop

According to one poster at web based forums, Gamestop and EB will not take PS3 pre-orders until this October. The main reason being is that they need to ''plant out a new course of action'' when it comes to system allocation. Currently all you can do at the website is register for further updates.

Yea the plan is how do we milk this b*! 2/3 of stock will go to online bundles and the store shipments will be staggered to "help" people get the best package possible. Unless MGS4 and GT are part of that bundle, "fudge" you. Well looks like camping time just to preorder.

MGS4 isn't coming out until 2007 and gt4 was just a demo, they have no plans on making that into a full game.

GT is going to be a game, but its called Gran Turismo HD which does sound ****.

But i will be giving the ps3 some time before buying it, i bought the 360 on its launch day and it was ****, no decent games at all.

I think ill get the ps3 when some titles are out.

this isnt a rumour it is true. during the conference call yeaterday at work the dm told us that no ps3 preoders intill after the mangers meetings in sept which take place in texas at gamestops headquaters. so it is true

yeah i kind of thought something was up, i tried preordering it last night along with the wii but i was told "we have a date and a price but are unsure when we will start taking preorders". Atleast now i don't have to wonder day after day when i can lay some cash down for the ps3, now answers are needed for the wii

Actualy I been working at GAMESTOP for well OVER 4+ yrs

and no GAMESTOP, EB, or SOFTWARE ETC will be taking ANY pre orders UNTIL SEPT.. ( for now ) thats what our MAIN OFFICE tells us

we may not EVEN take ANY pre-orders because it seem we may only get ...........5 PS3 for each store, since we bought out EB were WORLD WIDE so SONY may not be able to give us enough to spread out more than 5 PS3 per store

the reason for this is that SONY wants to do what MS did, a WORLD LAUNCH , so our stores dont want the same NEGATIVE affect which was MS didnt have enough 360's to cover our

so again for NOW were taking pre-orders on SEPT...and maybe not at all

pre -orders NOW be careful because many MANAGERS have been fired because its a lie were taking pre orders now they wont steal your money , what they do is put the reserve in a non PS3 RESERVE on the computer to than later register the pre orders all in one day as soon as were told to take pre orders .....just incase ANYTHING changes by the time this is read please call our toll free

In the UK the gamestation near me started pre-orders allready, but hastily stopped. Then when i was in my game store, i asked about pre-orders and they had a "preliminary list" to sort out the preorder forms when they had them, BUT the manager there said they couldnt add me, as head office had told them no more pre-orders, as each store in my town is only allowed a MAXIMUM of 40 ps3's each for release.
I cant see many people getting one before 2007.
