Metal Gear Solid Movie Confirmed

In his catalogue MGS creator Hideo Kojima announces that a Metal Gear Solid movie is coming to the bigscreen. There is no mention of a name, release date or even touted cast members, but it's coming to a cinema near you...

When excited attendees left yesterday's Konami press conference, they were handed a catalog for Studio Kojima's forthcoming slate of games. However, many didn't know it, since the brochure was a clever imitation of the newsletter handed out each day at of the Electronic Entertainment Expo.

On the front of the Kojima catalog was a "breaking news" box, which bore the headline "Solid Snake...On the silver screen?" The blurb below it read, "In a late-breaking surprise announcement, director Hideo Kojima revealed that his most famous creation--Metal Gear Solid--is getting the live-action treatment."

Given the semicomic nature of the fake E3 newsletter/Kojima Productions catalog, many thought the story was a joke. However, on the last page of the pamphlet was a page-long article on the project, which showed that Kojima was dead serious when he made the announcement.

Kojima did not mention the name of the party, a release date, or any potential directors or stars. However, ever since the original PlayStation Metal Gear Soild, the English-language dialogue of game hero Solid Snake has been voiced by Hollywood figure David Hayter. Though a prolific voice actor, Hayter has enjoyed greater success as a screenwriter, with credits for X-Men, X2, and the forthcoming Watchmen under his belt.

Id say no to tom straight away, 1 he's too small and not built.

Id think Hugh Jackman would be a good role for Snake, and i hope they keep UWE BOLL the **** away from it, hes deserves to be killed that fucking tit.

I think theyres a 90% chance it will be based on MSG the game as its what thefans want, like Silent Hill that film is so good, the respect to the game and the only part difrent is parts of the story and the fact that its a woman not a man.

The music will most definately be by Harry Gregson Williams the man behing the excellent music in MGS2 and 3 and hopefully 4.

If they do end up making a second rate live action movie then my vote goes to Triple H as .....Liquid Snake. I feel that he has what it takes in the hair department to pull off the blonde mullet type look:D

i doubt tripple H, as dont forget snake and liquid and solidus has to be played by the same actor because theyre clones of Big Boss, and tripple H isnt a holly wood idol, where as hugh jackman is pretty tall, built and looks sorta like snake.

id prefare this film to be acted not CG, the only cg parts should be Mantis, Rex and special effects for grey fox.

the film would also have to be based on MGS1 as it would be pointless telling the story of big boss as not many people know of MGS (those who dont play games).

also when MGS1 came out it was loved and rated as a holly wood style game.

I hope konimi stick to the game like they did with silent hill, they pyramid guy is reall good, if youve played the games id recomend silent hill movie to you.

well snake does have long hair like that, brushed back like a mullet and the bandana.

just jackman seem to play great action roles and i guess thats why he turned james pondlife down.

In reality the character is based on Rambo & Snake Pliskin (Escape from New York)

So I would have initially said Sly stallone. But he is getting too old for this..

Ocelot - Anthony Hopkins or Angelina Jolie's Dad (baddie in Mission Impossible)

Otacon - Daniel Jackson from Stargate

Meryl = Mira Sorvino (the one in that mimic? film)

Vulcan Raven = Has to be Arnold Schwarznegger (i know spelt it wrong)

Sniper Wolf = Sharon Stone, Nicole Kidman - any blond bimbo (lol)

Psycho Mantis = One of the ocelot rejects or any wierdo

considering mgs games are basically like a movie it should be easy to make just like the game, with the gameplay parts simply polished up a bit instead of been like a 2nd person watching the game.
