I recently got my Qoob Pro installed and set about to play one of the two games I plan to spend some time with.
The game is called Giftpia, and was never released stateside.
I burned the mini dvd, and put it into the Gamecube (I think my BIOS was qoob1.3a) and it came to a screen that told me what was on the disc. I selected the .gcm file and it froze. Now when I put the disc in, it says it can't read it.
I have a few questions about this:
1) Is there a BIOS that runs foreign games better (is there a chance it was the BIOS that caused it to screw up?)
2) Would it load better with something like gcsim? (if so please tell me how to use it (I have PSO ep I and II and a BBA))
Thanks

You burned the game wrong, you can't just put the .gcm on a data dvd.
In Nero you have to go to the Recorder menu and choose burn image.
IMGBURN is another good program from burning games

OR
edit the "game.gcm" - change extension from gcm to iso
then you got game.iso - burn with nero

Thanks. I'll try out those strategies tomorrow.

well I tried both strategies. I tried to burn the .gcm as an image, and Nero didn't recognize it, so I changed the extension to .iso, and burned it as an image. The burn went fine, but the qoob can't read the disc. Then I burned the .iso as an data disc, and the qoob sees the file and locks up when I try to load it. Is there any other possible solution?
Could be a problem with your media. Does it load any other games? If it does then you could try and change the video options or something but apart from that i dont know.

Use Nero StartSmart or use IMGBurn.
You have the right idea with changing the extension to ISO. With StartSmart, there should be an option to burn disc from Image file (it's the same with IMGBurn). From there, select the renamed ISO file and burn.
If your Cube still does not read your disc, try one or all of the following:
-Change burning speed to a lower or faster speed that you burned it at.
-Change out media (different brand, different disc type +R or -R, etc.)
-Do infamous pot. adjustment if above don't work for you.
You do not want to burn the ISO as a data disc (ie. put the ISO on the disc like you're making a mp3 CD or just as a regular file), only as a disc image.

I see the infamous pot. adjustment mentioned everywhere, but I still have no idea what it is. Can someone explain it to me, cause nothing seems to be working.

try using imgburn and burn it while its a .gcm, the only game i've gotten in .gcm format did not work after renaming it to .iso

Go to http://modthatcube.pxn-os.com/ to learn how to change the pot it is something that most people have to do as the GC is real picky at what disc's it reads.
