IGN have perhaps the worlds first review of Super Mario Bros. DS. They give it a huge 9.5/10 with an INCREDIBLE rating as well as a perfect 10/10 for gameplay. Presentation, graphics, sound and lasting appeal all scored 9.0's.

Before New Super Mario Bros. entered my life, Yoshi's Island was, to me, the greatest platformer ever created. That title may now have to go to New Super Mario Bros.

A lot of what made Yoshi's Island so fantastic was how the designers used graphic capabilities to create and incorporate new gameplay elements into the mix. That's the same with New Super Mario Bros.-- the power of the Nintendo DS makes it possible for new elements like the deforming terrain, giant 3D enemies and obstacles, fully rotating environments, and countless other elements that are more integral to the game design than they are for "ooh neat" effect.

This game can easily be completed in a day if you simply romp through the bare minimum of New Super Mario Bros. level structure. Some levels are easier than others, and boss battles are a bit on the predictable side. To some, this will seem like a disappointment. But like games in Mario's past, there's more to this Nintendo DS game than the minimum requirements - far more levels and challenges await those who try and complete a level by snagging everything before the end.

Admittedly there aren't as many gameplay innovations in New Super Mario Bros. as compared to previous Super Mario releases, but that's mostly due to the fact that much of platforming's innovations are related to 3D designs. But that said, this Nintendo DS release still proves that Nintendo still has some great ideas brewing for its plumber in his classic setting. There's an incredible amount of fresh, fun challenge to uncover in this revival.

Can Mario fly in this one? I've looked through endless screenshots and cant see anything of the sort. I hope they didn't leave it out.

Still can't wait for this one though.

Man the sound in the game is like 100x better then most DS games. Funny how this drops the same day as Top Gun. New Super Mario Bros probably the best game for the DS and Top Gun one of the ugliest, loudest, most sicking playing games on the DS,lol. Goes to show that 2D still reigns supreme when it comes to artful graphics!

What M3 firmware version and game manager version are you using?

firmware e.18 and game manager 3.14

You have to putt it on normal and no trim, or it won't work.

hi, maybe it is not the right topic.
but i need some help with the game.

i want to get to the two "hidden" worlds and i absoluteley have no clue how to get there. i have some ideas.

wenn you beat boss2 to get to world 4 there is a small hole in the floor.
i assume that a blue-mushroom-mario would fit in.
but if i am a small mario it is impossible to beat the boss cause i am to small and i cannot hit the boss.
i tried to beat the boss the conventional way and then tried to use the blue mushroom, but it didn't work.

so please help me :)

Lol

You can beat the boss, just do a ass jump(like yoshi) because normal jumping won't hurt the boss when your small.

I played the demo of this game in a EB store and I felt like Pete Doherty must have the first time he smoked crack. It was love at first sight and I couldlnt turn away, I had to have more and more.

Has anyone else noticed that it feels like the control is slow? I havent played the full game yet but what I have played seemed muddy.
