so this is the basic plug and flash idea were xecuter was working on to right
So this means if there would be an edited firmware somewere with the ability to play backups we could patch the firmware with this tool right?

It means if there was an edited firmware we could make a "DIFF-Patch" from it to the original file and offer a legal patch that only modifies the firmware you got from your drive.
Of course you could also use any other patch engine for that, for example PPF.

This is no different than PPF, APE or anything in its workings - but the F360 team plans on integrating all programs into a nice software suite that anyone can use easily. I guess using the open sources for PPF was too much work, or maybe too bulky for what they needed to get done.

Either way, by the looks of it you will soon pop your 360 DVD drive into the WinXP computer, run a program, hit start, wait for "Programming Complete!" message, shut everything down, pop your drive back into your 360 and enjoy your backups.

We should find out in the next month what the story is. Shall be interesting.

Yeah, no firmware key extractor is needed in this process ,which makes it very nice ;)
