The <A href="http://www.foros360.com" target="_blank">Foros 360 team</a> are set to release software to patch the Xbox 360 DVD firmware. The patching software is said to be compatibile with all drives and firmware revisions. This is software to patch the drive ONLY, it will not mean the Xbox 360 is hacked, the gruelling task of the actual hex code patch must still be completed. Consider this next release from Foros 360 to be like PPF-O-Matic patching software without any patches....yet ;).

WHY WHY WHY do we keep seeing useless patch tools, key extractors and the like. What's wrong with PPF or any other patch engine for that matter?
Besides, I highly doubt anybody who releases the actual patch would choose some spanish custom patcher over "scene standards" like PPF.

I think you missed the point. We arn't talking about an ISO file, this software has to be custom due to the fact its patching a firmware on a drive with the correct bits rather than patching a file. I could be wrong but the more tools the merrier. Foros team seems to have this 360 down pat and I can only expect things to get interesting in the next 2-3 months.

Uhm actually I don't think you have any idea what you're talking about. PPF has nothing to do with ISOs. Its a generic patch engine and works with every file.
Input: Oriniginal File + Modified File
Result: PPF file with differences

You can then do
Input: Original File + PPF
Result: Modified File

Which saves you from the trouble of distributing the original file (license reasons, size, ...). Which, btw., is exactly what this tool will do. Only right now it does nothing.

I don't think they want to make it easy for someone to redistribute the code via another means. It will be harder for someone to rip apart this format compared to PPF thats widely known and used as you can't just reverse the patch, or disassemble the patch to see whats going on the same way as a PPF patch - it will be done of course but some work will have to likly be done to get the patch decompiled, Meaning that for the most part the patches that will be released will not be some crazy fool in a basement trying to cook 360 drives but something that should work.

Then on the other hand maybe they are keeping it to a different format to cook some 360 drives as no one will know what the patch does until its flashed.. who knows. We will find out soon enough.
