Xbox backup discs

I'm sorry if this sounds n00bish but I need to know if I try to play one of my xbox backup discs (not 360) on the 360 will it think it is a normal xbox game? Thank you

It won't work, you would need to modify the 360 which cannot be done (yet). It will just reject the disc as non authentic.

Well thanks for telling me but hope we can mod it soon I wonder if we could mod it like a softmod though through the emulator that microsoft has...

Softmodding on the 360 is going to be near impossible (if not totally impossible) due to the hypervisor that constantly watches the ram for buffer overflows (which is how software exploits work). Compromising the bios is also going to be near impossible. The only avenue of attack right now is the dvdrom firmware and that is not really a viable hack due to the limitations of it and the complexity of doing it in the first place, not to mention the fact that ms will block it asap (probably before it ever reaches the public if it ever does).
