just bought my first UMD movie! BUT HELP! i have 1.5!

i just bought my first umd movie but it requiers me to upgrade my firmware to watch it. i dont wanna upgrade to 2.0 ( or even newer firmware? ) just to watch a movie and then downgrade :(.

Is there any homebrew app that lets me watch this movie without upgrading? the movie is "hostage" btw..

nope sorry not at the mo, i dont think anbody is tinkering with movies, just games. But wait, in the near future, an MPHmovie loader 'might' be released....:p

mmm if u want u can try getting pspsetx or wab version chager to change to label 2.0 n try that umd.. it workin for game umd but movie im not sure..

I would return/exchange it for the DVD of the movie and use Video 9 to convert it for your PSP. Then you've got the DVD as well :D

No movie is worth losing 1.5 fw IMO

yea I think getting the dvd and then ripping it would be a good idea since UMDs are practically dead technology. However, I think you can rip the UMD then run on your memory stick. Dont know all the steps to it but you probably can. Theres gotta be ways to do it without upgrading...

It's not very difficult. DVD to AVI/MPG using DVD Decrypter or a simillar program, then convert your AVI/MPG to MP4 using Video 9
