Team Xecuter: Xbox 360 Progress

Team Xecuter have made some progress when connecting the Xbox 360 DVD ROM to a PC - reading the firmware and then writing back to it. They have a couple of products lined up to make life incredibly simple for the DVD drive modder - one of which will be the "tool of choice" in the near future.


We have made some progress when connecting the Xbox360 DVD ROM to a PC - reading the firmware and then writing back to it. Our goal is to make this plug and play - as simple as possible that anyone could do it with no fuss - and without any great expense.

We have a couple of products lined up to make life incredibly simple for the DVD drive modder - one of which will (in our opinion) be the "tool of choice" in the near future.

easy easy ... the hyping just started. we may be happy if we see something released by team xecuter after 10 months. those teams like to be in the picture :rolleyes:

i still have to see their custom xbox case, their psp mass storage device, etc ...

never heard of a tool to reflash the firmware. with only a cable not much will happen :eek:

yes, im still waiting on that full case replacment also. its the reason i never bought a clear blue case.

remember, worst case M$ waits to get everybody all excited about the mod then as soon as TEAM XECUTER(no "E" ppl learn to respect the X and spell their #^@^ name right) spends thier $$ and time and releases something then the magic update comes and blocks the FW hack.

the more time TEAM XECUTER has to learn and code the better for all of us and maybe they can figure out something that can hold M$ off a while longer as far as updates.

anyway, i cant wait to void my waranty on my 360 :)

As simple as this , just buy a Xbox360 to playbackup's , and other to play Hit Games On-line ! Not too cheap ( really exepensive ) But i dont see another way !! Anyway !! I wanna Break my #60 Warranty as soon as possible ! Awesome Work Executer !! ;)

dont rush out to fast and buy another 360, M$ may decide to do the same thing to the 360 as $ony with psp to where you buy a new game and have to update to play the new game and if you dont update then u cant play. that would make having two 360's wasteful.
M$ doesnt want to sell you another console your never going to buy anything else for either because they lose $$ on each system sold and make it back when you buy games.

i wish xecuter wouldn't make it too userfriendly, i believe userfriendly hacks brings heat down on the scene and make security teams work harder to stop the hacks. xecuter should make the flash software command line driven intentionally too make it a little complicated and take the heat off the hack and the scene.

And the point would be? It would still be posted on P2P.

That is what the groups do originally, then others get hold of the files, and post them all over P2P networks, and other places.

So your suggestion is redundant.

Ya, since sony's systems are all wide open, and nintendo too. Sometimes closed source makes sense.

you know in Mr. Special’s video now correct me if im wrong he had some type of programmable ROM mounted on breadboard manually replacing whatever the firmware was originally stored on (the chip with the peace of tape on it that said 360) that means he was ether unwilling or unable to reflash it

For starters are we 100% sure the firmware is stored on a type of flashrom or other EEPROM?

I know Team Xecuter is not the type to overlook something so obvious but still I cant seem to help wondering yet still unwilling to void my warranty just to find out
and even if it is I am not convinced its possiple to wright to it without the use of a EPROM programer

He had an external chip to make it easier to takeout, flash, return, and test rather than desoldering his chip every time.

unlikley this is not a bad thing and I do not blame them for doing so but they are a busness this is how they make there living even if they did manage to already hack the firmwares witch seems almost impossiple to be done already they would not distripute it till they had enoth stock of there computer connector thingy (witch I supect will be a modified eeprom programer designed to be able to reporgram the 360's firmware in circuit) to start distriputeing them and sence they are not even finished designing that we are going to have at the very least a few months wait

it doesnt matter how long it takes, the longer the better. the more they refine it the better it will be for all of us. now when i hear, someday, that the kernal has been taken and a full featured chip is looming then ill be one of the ppl begging for release, heh.
