i was just a little bit mooding my psp (with the blue lighted L + R buttons)
and after building in back togehther my LCD has no light and no color.
the only thing i see is the text of the menu.
i checked all cables to the lcd and it seems, that everything is okay.
so has anybody an idea what else it could be?!
when i switch the psp on, i do not see the intro ("the sound with the sony entertainment text") the first an only thing i see is the text of the menu without color or light.. only the contrast...
thanks

You eather f*cked the LCD backlight or you didnt plug it back in properly,if you remove the LCD youll see it has two ribbon cables ,one thick one(many connection pionts) and one thin one with only 3 connection pionts, the backight is the thin one,I could probebly fix it for you but I guess you dont stay in south africa.

i checked both of them and they seemd to bee good...
could it be something else?! the lcd itself or probably the mainboard or connections on it?!
hope not, then i will try to check the cabels another time...
sorry, i live in europe ;o)

Remove the LCD screen, turn on the psp Take a volt meter and CAREFULLY mesure the small ribbon cable to see if its getting any power,if it doesnt the MOBO is Fooked,if it does get power its the back light...

can you please tell me where I have to measure, my backlight is not working, and the lcd screen works fine in another psp, so it must be something with the motherboard.
Would really appreciate it if you can tell me how to fix it...

If you tested it in some one elses PSP and it works, theres no piont in in mesuring, the mobo is damaged,I havent come acrose this problem before, but try tracing back the threee lines for the back light and testing every cap/resistor along the way...
PS Lenselijer are you a different person than aduszonice,if so what coased your PSP to fail?

Yes i'm a different person.
The PSP has always worked fine. I put in a new lcd screen because the old one had too many dead pixels.
So I put it in, worked fine, also the backlight. But then my battery fell out. I put it back in, and then the backlight was gone :(
Tried the same lcd screen in another psp and it works fine with backlight.
So I think it has to do something with the battery falling out, can you confirm this?
