A question about the Qoob pro and discs?

Howdy all,
I installed one of these in my cube a few days ago, this chip works great with burned discs but I now seem have lost being able to boot original discs? I am wondering if this has happened to anyone else? I have not encountered anyone posting with this problem and was not aware it being and issue when I researched this mod? I have also adjusted my pot to 183 Ohms, if that makes any difference but I was unable to boot with the chip and original pot settings (590 Ohms), my question is Am I doing something stupid? I'd really like to be able to play original discs still...

Retail disks should direct boot, but have you tried going to the origional BIOS via the menu and loading the game from there?

Ya, I have tried that but it tells me that there is no disc in ? Seems strange as heck since at first I just loaded the qoob chip on the machine, no laser adjustment, and same result? Very bizarre, also using bios 1.3a but made no difference, hesitant to try 1.3c but I am thinking this is not a software issue... just my suspicions tho.
Anyone one else have any insight into this conundrum?
