newbie need info on slim pstwo and hd advance

ok so i was reading on this forum and i want more information on the hd advance i got a slimeline pstwo thats scph-70012 and im interested in this hd advance i got few questions.

can i use any hd cause i have a 160 gig maxtor hd lying around here and are u supposed format the drive a certain way or can i format like i would if reinstalling windows and how do u copy the games onto the hd after its done does it come with software?

I don't think you can use hdadvance on a slim pstwo, it only works on the older models with the Sony Network adapter. You would have to use USBExtreme instead but it's slower and isn't as compatible with games.

For both programs they'll each format the drive themselves. The 160gig harddrive should work but you'll need a USB enclosure for usbextreme and they both have software for copying the games onto it. As far as I know for the usb version you have to hook it upto your PC while HDadvance you can rip the games using the PS2 and a slide card.
