First off let me say hello all,and thank you to all the people runnin this place.

I'm a Gamer from way back, a sorta "addict" you could say.(lol) I Preordered my XBOX before it was out,Sonner than any other system I have ever bought,besides the N64. I love my XBOX and it Loves me...since then...I have bought a second one for my 6 yr old son because he would NOT play the Gamecube that me and my wife purchased for him...ya he played mario and a few others from time to time...but it was all i could do to get him away from my XBOX,so we traded up. :)

I bought my XBOX because I knew that XBOX live would be the SHiznit! and it is!

I do have two xboxes in my house...but one belongs to me boy :) lol

I have read ALOT of different ways of doing what I want to do...but do not fully comprehend many of the ways fully(or partially for that matter),I'm not dumb,just somewhat new to computers.

I have a Win/Me computer,with both XBOXes hooked up to a router through the computer.and a home made action replay that works great.

I want to run Linux (wife's puter and shes greedy lol)and be able to play copies of my own games on my sons XBOX ,so we can play System Link without purchasing two copies of every game he likes.

My XBOX will be the one that I go on LIVE with...so I dont wanna do anything to it yet(or ever) because I dont wanna lose my account and get my box banned.

I've read through your forums,and you all seem like nice people(or is it just an act lol jk)...
So could someone please help point me in the direction I wann go.

Ok ,allthough my post was long above,I cut it short in the end...

I have already "hacked" into the box,but failed...I made the easy to make home made action replay.then went to their site and downloaded a run linux saved game from there,put the saved game in like it goes,booted the game,loaded the save,and viola I had a temporary new dashboard...evox(with phoenix logo when it first starts I think.).
I proceeded further and got the big fonts hack and went ahead step by step through one of the easiest tutorials I could find.

anyway,all was well,had ftp access,had bert.xtf and earnie.xtf,and put them where they go(fonts folder),renamed the other xtf's there,and then put the default.xbe in the place of the dash.xbe(???) anyway...I had the wrong default .xbe,and think that the mech assault saved game I got was missing stuff...once I did this,I got the scren of death,freaked for a second,then went and put everything back...RELIEF! she fired right up...so I did it a few more times and kept getting the "service required" screen,so I left bert and earnie in(renamed them wrong) and renamed all orriginals and it works like new again...

I am pretty sure I can do any of the software hacks that are well tutorialed...

I am poor,and really dont wanna install a chip...but might anyway eventually...I think I'm gonna try again,get new files,and hope for the best.

I have very lil time anymore with work and kids and all,

I will try to get what I need to install the newest phoenix this week some time...probably be back for help though lol

I seen woogers demo,downloaded it,and it looks sweet,looks like it would pretty much do everything I need to do and more...

is this for me? I havnt ftp'd with it yet,just ran it on my puter?

Yeah Woogers GUI install is excellent but I dont beleive that it is finished yet so you will have to wait. In the mean time there are pleanty or Tutorials out there for installing Phoenix and other exploits.
