I just installed a Qoob Pro in my Rev A GC. When I turned on my cube after the install it stayed at the blue video screen, it never went to the GC screen or bios screen. The green LED on the Qoob came on as well as the power LED and the fan worked fine also. So I desoldered everything and made sure my cube still gave me picture on the t.v. and it did, the GC screen came on right away. So I resoldered everything again, making sure all my points were perfect, hooked everything up, started up my cube and nothin will come up on the screen still?
I did flash slot 1 on the Qoob pro w/ the 1.3c bios (qoob_13c.gcb) I only have to flash 1 slot correct? Because when I disconnected from the Qoob it said there was no bios file on it.?.
Do you guys have any pointers that could help me fix this problem?
I seriously do not think it is an install problem. I have modded many Ps2's and Xbox's so my soldering skills are decent.

Make sure that the yellow and purple wires are insulated from the heatsink. While you are in there, also triple and quadruple check your install. In most cases, the culprit usually is the purple and yellow wires. Check to make sure that there are no solder bridges between the IC legs.
Ensure also that the wire harness is inserted firmly into the QP. Check also that the lid bypass switch contacts (the little solder pads on the PCB connection) is not touching anything metal. Though it might not be causing the flaw, it's good to protect it from shorting on the Cube's metal frame. Also check to make sure that the front of the QP isn't touching bare metal.
I'm under the assumption that you are using the latest QP flashing software (1.3, I believe). Make sure you connect to the cube, erase the BIOS that is in the first slot (the BIOS also occupies the second slot), write the new BIOS (or 1.3c if you're trying it again), wait until it has finished flashing the new BIOS, then before you click "Disconnect", ensure that the first 2 slots are occupied with the BIOS.
If you end up with all question marks, or the QP flashing software indicates that all the slots are corrupt, you may have a bad QP. This, however, is quite rare. If this is what is causing it to fail, then you'll have to contact the shop where you purchased it from for a replacement.
...it's kinda late, so I'm sorry if what I typed down here is a little incoherant.

and be sure to check the bridge you have to make (black wire / adjacent pin)

Ok, I will go back and check my soldering points once again. Yes I did make sure to bridge the black wire on both of those points, I actually missed it my first time and then went back and soldered it on to both. I take it that is the ground wire.
Anyway, thanks a lot for your replies, I will work on it today (if I have time) and report back what I find!

i had the same problem. something incompatible with the qoob pro and the rev of the gamecube. i fixed it by flashing every slot with the 1.3 bios. i emailed qoob weeks ago but they appear to be dead.

Its a REV A, I thought that fix worked mainly for the REV C? I have a REV A, flashed the BIOS to the first spot and it works every time.
But who am I to say that this won't work. If all else fails, you could try doing this with your QP.

Here is a picture of the install if it helps at all. It seriously is clean and yes the black wire is bridged and there is no bridge between the green and blue and there is no solder between the bridges, trust me I checked a dozen times w/ a magnify glass even. I will try flashing all the slots w/ the 1.3c bios and see if that works and report back.

Ok guys, I figured it out. I simply flashed both banks again and everything booted up properly. I guess I did figure out one thing, and that is if there is no bios on the Qoob and you turn your system on you will get a blank screen. Live and learn eh...

Minnwild12 has a Rev A/B Cube and the 1.3c BIOS flashed.
You'll have to erase the BIOS that is in the first two blocks of your QP (it'll have BIOS marked on it), then write the 1.3c's .gcb file to those blocks.
Yo,
yesterday went back to my store.
They replaced my QP and now it works fine.
So my chip was busted.
I had the problem that i needed the USB power from my computer to boot the chip. Otherwhise it didn't work :)
