After working a while with these memory card images I see patterns in them they have some sort of database in them to say what is stored and where.

And as I notice when you insert a memory card with a smaller image on it (such as using the hacked MXM version there is out there) the xbox seems to be picking up on the face the table <looks like an entry table to me> is invalid for the actually physical size of the memory card and asks you if you want to format it.

So may things to try on this
Memory card exploits maybe?
Like a hacked table
Looking at what the xbox is reading to find the size of the card and exploitng that - maybe by fooling the xbox about the physical size of the card and then getting it to call a sector outside the range it believes to be there.

So many ideas so little time and remember folks I'm no programmer.

More to note on this the memory menu does not mention any corruptions when you have an xboxdashboard xbe in the root directory of a memory card yet it will if your subdirs don't have the xbx files in them.

I wonder if there is an xbe in the DVD key... ???

Someone also pointed out to me today that certain gamesaves use the HDDkey to sign (you may or may not know that one) however this key is not used to sign them if you save to a memorycard and not the hard drive.

Something to think about
