Anyone had trouble with there xbox crashing after the dash update? My machine has been very reliable only crashing once the very first time I used it (when going to the 360 dash from PGR3). I updated yesterday but when I was playing DOA4 (also for the first time) I had a major crash. The screen went black while loading a cut scene so I switched it off and restarted but got the dreaded flashing red ring of light on the front of my 360. Tried again this morning with couple of restarts but no luck. After a quick check on xbox.com the diagnosis was a hardware failure so I removed the HD and restarted but that did'nt work either. Last resort was to unplug all the cables from the back of the machine then plug them back in again. That did the trick and my baby came back to daddy. So is it "normal" to experience this sort of thing after updating as my machine does'nt seem to like first times.

well i did a little digging and came across a few people in other places that have encountered the same problem so id say your not alone. Its a little crappy this would happen after the first dash update but i dont see another fix far behind

n@ptown, If you've still got your xbox, try pulling ALL the cables out from the back of the unit. Then plug them back in. It worked for me though not sure how. This is on the M$ website.

Its crashed four more times today. Just a matter of time before it's totally cattled. Have rang M$ and I'm sending it back. They said they wont bother repairing it, they will send out a new one instead. As mines a core, thought I would see if they would send out a premier model (with the silver disk tray) bloke said he would try, so its a wait and see.:(

I got my machine working again, but it still a rough deal. Will play it till it breaks again which probably wont be long then send it back. Not looking forward to 7-10 working days with no PGR3. Played for a good 5 hours so far today and its still going!
