Hi Guys, I got Condemned from a friend of mine who works at SEGA but the Disc isn't a regular retail disc. On the disc it says CHECK DISC ONLY, and has a product code and Microsoft Condifidential.

You think it could be used to boot iso's, if it's ripped?

It's the full game...no kiosk disc!

it could be a preview disc before the final pressed disc was out.

The executeable MUST BE SIGNED in order for the xbox to read it and play the game, PERIOD. It may be possible to play a copy of the disc if the media flag is not turned on, but most likely it is.

I've seen these disks before and that is exactly what they are. They are pressed disks, not burned, and they do run on retail units. However, everything is still encrypted and I doubt very much if it would run from a burned DVD-R.

Put the disk into a PC DVD-ROM drive. If you can see the .XEX executable then let us know.

Hmmm ... But a promo ain't similar to a check disk ...
Promos are pretty similar to final retail disks, i own two xbox 1 promos myself.

sounds like a classic promo which will most likey have media protection
if in doubt make a copy and try to boot it (if this is yet possible)

jup ... the promo disks are exactly like retail ones, same protection scheme etc.

check disks however may differ slightly from promos and retails, although it's doubtful that anything on a check disk can be exploited to run 360 copies.

the condemned check disk is of special interest because it might contain a different version of the game - maybe the brutality goes further since this check version never got rated, who knows ...

of course everyone is interested in such disks, if I were the owner, i'd never sell it to someone else but keep it ;) pretty rare item, even more rare than promos and pretty good game ;)

Like the promo pro evo 5 copy that came out, did not have online but the retail did, promo copy are for previews like ign, gamesmaster etc.

how are you people getting these?

Those are presents from people working @ video stores or media facilities ...
As you can imagine, these ARE RARE items and not often given to you
(maybe ~ 1 promo per year).

I would never ever sell one of those ;)

If someone is interested, I could do some packshots of the two XBOX 1 promos I own ... The covers look slightly different, nevertheless the games inside are regular retail ones ... Both are still factory sealed and I'm not planning on opening up one of them :)

I can remember at Electronics Boutique ages ago someone had the tendo sp before they was out, seen him playing behind the counter with it before was out. I would love to get my hands on a promo, would get a gd amount for it in time.

What has this got to do with the promo copies?
