Hello everyone,
first time writing here, very good forum I should say.

Don't make a fuss outta me but I'm one of those who got a 1.0 firmware.
My girlfriend spent a lot of money to get this one specifically (it is also Japanese) so I don't really feel like upgrading, I would like to, but I assume it wouldn't be fair in her regards (and also I love the emulator scene).

With that pointed out, I wanted to ask if there was a devhook compatibility thread going on somwhere; I think I saw it once, so I've been looking for a couple of days through the forum in order to find that thread again, but can't seem to find it. Any help would be much appreciated.

Furthermore UmdEmulator is out for FW1.5 and I am wondering - since there are no extreme differences between FW1.0 and 1.5 - on why it doesn't work. I gave fastloader and some mph firmware loader (yeah with all that unpack/repack stuff...took me ages!) a shot but with no great results.
So is a port of UMDEmulator to 1.0 possible?

Not that I have that many games to use, but the few I got require fw 1.5 and also 2.0. I guess that if I can't get things running I'll just stick to my 1.0 but I was hoping some guy here could give me some ideas on how to strive along with crappy 1.0 just running my few games (bleach 2 and Pes5) with emulators.

Eventually I was planning to buy Metal Gear Acid 2 (The RPG one) and Tokobots. will I be okay with 1.0 somehow?

Well thanks to whoever reads this and replies,

You may as well upgrade as some/most games/apps are for 1.5 .
Although according to sonyxteam a 1.0 psp is worth more to developers (easy to upgrade, no messing about with kxploit and has the early developer keys).

But answering your question ; you can convert 1.5 eboots to 1.0 programs using seipsptool.

MGS 2 I doubt will work on a 1.0 as it will probably be 2.0+ only and tokobot is playable without saves (just use sleep mode) if you use some patched prx files.

ok didnt see the edit button.sorry

I dont know anything about a compatibility list but most games can work on devhook just by loading up umdemulator and setting the iso emulation mode to system load and starting up devhook.
Also for the patched prx files (the game works in ISO form) , they come from the rls group Artisan and u can replace the prx files with umdgen or if you know ur sites get tikobot already patched.

Soz, its Sei PSP Tool

wow that was fast!
Thanks again you seem to know your share.

So i tried converting the umdemulator for fw 1.0 without success. The prog won't boot returning an error (80020148) as it did before. Any other ideas or shall I give up?
About this Artisan group, has it got a website or anything? I did some googling and found out I have to rebuild isos...
I am willing to learn so I can get bleach 2 running on my psp but i dunno where (or how) to patch these prx files.

Thank you for bearing with me the pains of 1.0 :D

Sorry I dont know anymore about umd emu on 1.0 but as for tokobot, artisan dont have a site (as they are a pirate iso release group) but there are sites where you can get tokobot already patched.

UMD Emu will never run on 1.00, as this tool was specifically written for 1.50. As for running 2.00 firmware games on 1.50, there's a lot of information on this board on it, so try using search... ;-)

Here it is: http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=15489
I will insert it also in my sig.
