ok i want to buy a hard drive what do i need in all? do i need to chip my ps2 to play the games off the Hard drive.

it depends which way you want to go, mate. mine is unchipped with a hdloader which uses a game save exploit to boot from hd rather than disc.
this way, ya ps2 remains un opened and still covered via warranty and not wearing the laser, etc. http://www.hdloader.com.au/
this is where i got mine from, though you can get the files,etc from the usual places.
as for chipping, i've never bothered with them on ps2's for personal reasons.

hi im new to the forum and i want to be able to play burnt games on my ps2 i dont want a modchip and i am wondering if i can use a harddrive exploit the only problem is i am using the slimline ps2 so i dont know how to get a harddrive to work on it

umm sry what i ment to say is now that i have done some more reasearch suppose i do manage to get a harddrive on my ps2 ui know i can directly save games to the hdd but can i put some kind of code or exploit on it witch will boot up burnt disks?
