Looks like a few people have come forward regarding being scammed on Ebay for Xbox 360 consoles. A woman was swindled out of 600 bucks for an IMAGE of the Xbox 360 only, wheras another man paid $800 for the box alone - we are sure they didn't do this on purpose!

Following our post yesterday about a woman who was swindled out of over $600 for a worthless photo of an Xbox 360, a man with a similar story contacted us through our tips form.

Back in November, an auction called "Xbox 360 Prem Retail Box" was placed up on eBay; included in very fine print at the end of the page was the disclaimer that "no xbox36o is included within the package", though the seller would throw in a free PS1.

The man who contacted us won the auction in the belief that he would soon have himself a brand new Premium Xbox 360, and the bidding was closed at $675. Further stop payments that weren't stopped pushed his total cost up to $826.

I actually tried to stop those by contacting the bidders during the auction with instructions on how to retract your bid and only like 30% of the people retracted.

Some people jsut have to be more careful when bidding, but the same thing happened with the PS2 in 2000. Exact same.

Ya, first time i bidded on ebay because a friend wanted a cellphone, then he retracted from buying it after i allready bidded on it, i was then well ill pay with my money for the cellphone, after watching the sellers transactions before i decided not to pay for it and contacted ebay, since the user had a very weird transaction with the same cellphone, buy really weird, which the only common sense to me that was he was scammed before and he tryed to scam me lol.

People should READ the auction info before bidding

Indeed they should, but they shuldn't have to pay $500+ to learn that lesson.

Hey, if they WERE warned, and only 30% retracted their bid, well...I can't really feel sorry for them

I remember the exact same thing with the PS2 as well. Actually just told my (new) wife the story only days before. Amazing...
