Engadget report "Nintendo President Satoru Iwata decided to let us all know that they are indeed planning on dropping the Revolution for less than the Xbox Core system, no word yet on the rumors of Mario being a plumber".

In the shocker of the year, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata decided to let us all know that they are indeed planning on dropping the Revolution for less than the Xbox Core system, no word yet on the rumors of Mario being a plumber. This just confirms the low-cost vibe we've been getting all along from the big N, and seems reasonable given the relative specs they're debuting with, so the main impact of this news is that Nintendo fanboys can officially break out those "our console will cost less than yours" party hats.

This is why Nintendo is smart. They have a way cheaper console that does the same. They are smart about it too. Nintendo Gamecube was way cheaper than both the xbox andps2 and it had much better graphics than ps2 and resident evil had better graphics than most xbox games. Nintendo only mistake is targeting young children. Other than that, I expect to see Revolution to rise in Japan and still make money in America.

I like the way the NGC targets kids... mainly because I am an old fart with kids.

By the time the Rev is genrally released though I bet the Xbox 360 will be just as cheap or cheaper , as they will be competing with the PS3 by then.

nukleuzdj has a point. My party hat has a picture of peach on it, she is a hottie. I challenge the statement that the NGC games were targeted at kids, Super Mario Sunshine is a very challenging game. I would like to see everyone who says that complete it then come back to me. I just think that the games are fun. There are still plenty of games with more mature content, eg Eternal Darkness. Just Nintendo has many colourful franchises.
