Problems downgrading

Can anyone please help. i got my son a psp 1 gig pack for christmas it is a ver 2.00. i have followed the instructions to a tee but will not work.. when i go to the camera folder the psp freezes then seitches off..when i go to the memory stick it "the system software on your psp system is version 2.00 there is no need to update."

you need to let the psp freeze for a good 30 seconds and then hold down the reset button for 10 seconds to shut it down and then go to the 1.5 update :)

the psp switches off itself before 30 seconds.....

i am new to this as you might have guessed,,...

i think i need an idiots guide to downgrading....

like what is vshell?
what do i put in the photo folder on the memory stick, just the pic , the psp folder or the photo folder...please help...

Also is there any games i can get to play without downgrading and if so what do i need to play them..???

im pretty sure you have a 2.01 version cause i also got a giga pack for christmas and i were so happy by the thought that now i could play games from my 1 gig memory stick. but then i saw it was a 2.01 version and got a little bit dissapointed. :( and then i searched the web after information, and it seems that giga pack comes with version 2.01. but to be sure if you have 2.00 or 2.01 check the side of your giga pack, (the side with the bar codes) and on the first line of one of those bar codes it says your model number, under that which voltage, and on the third row some numbers and on the end of that line a letter. if its a G its 2.01, if its a F its 2.00. good luck :D (mines a G :( )

if you find mph downgrader just copy the files to the root of your memory stick, thats the first screen that shows up when you access your stick. Then simply go to your photo option on your psp, it should crash with some strange writing on the screen, wait 30 seconds then hold the power till it turns off. When you turn it back on go to system settings and check to see that it says version 1.0, now create a folder on your memory stick inside psp/game called UPDATE put the 1.5 eboot in here, disconect usb and go to game on your psp there should be a update option there, run that. The update will stop at 99% dont worry turn it off, when you turn it on you get a blue screen you simply need to press the o button, then all should be well.
