please help me im new data transfer cable xplorer could not find a FATX drive to open

i got a data transfer cable for my 360, the one thats microsoft gives out, i badly want to add a game save to oblivion, because recently i accidently deleted my awesome character of like 200 hours, ok so i plug my hard drive in to my data transfer cable, then i plug the usb in to my computer, then i open up explorer360 beta 6, and click on open harddrive or memcard, then it says could not find a FATX drive to open, please help me i really want to add

Any item that you feel is un-neccessary or un-wanted, feel free to drop it on the ground and continue with the game.

That cable is strictly for a one time hard drive to hard drive transfer its of no use here.

I got the xbox transfer kit friday and after a few hours surfing the net i got it up and running :p

I'm doing all kinds of sweet stuff.

The transfer kit is not needed. Remove the HD from the casing and plug it into your computer then launch Xplorer360 with administrative priveleges... done.

I read you post and I assume you were able to get the data transfer cable to work with a HD and Xplorer. If so how did you manage to do so. I have spent an entire week and I cant find the drivers needed to get the HD working with xplorer and the data transfer cable that came with the 120gb harddrive if you can help I would be so grateful.

i had problems using the ms cable on vista but i found a way to make it work!!

right click on xplorer go to properties, then compatability and click run in compatability mode for windows xp sp2, click apply then ok

run xplorer as the administrator and it will work ok

Ok here my issue, I am running windows XP. I transered my data from 20Gb to a 120gb HD. My 120Gb works with the MS cable and explored but my 20GB gives me the FATX error code. Maybe the 20gb got formated to not work anymore with the 20gb. On device manager I can see mass storage unit but I don't have the drives for it. This is my issue.

you can use the cabel of ms but not with the xplorer360! to use the ms cabel you need the xport 360 program it works fine with 20 gb, 60 gb and 120 gb hdd

i got my transfer cable through microsoft and its the grey one with usb on one end. i downloaded xplorer 360 run with xp compatible mode with admin, but i cant expand partition 3. is it because i got that new update for dash with new avatar stuff. does anyone know of a way to get around this, also would it help to reformat my HD...mine is 60gig. any help would be much appreciated....because i really couldnt wait to mess with my profile and i want to mod Fallout 3...but now im frustrated that i might have to get new HD....

its not your hard drive its the new dash-board just wait for a new program to come out, my friend brought his 120gb round yesterday for me to try and that is the same it will not let me open partition 3, my 20gb is the same now it has had the update but if i try on a hard-drive that has not had it yet it all works fine

i have no problem with partition 3 but the new games z.b wolfenstein are not in the list i hope of new program i use the ms cabel with the xport 360

hi thanks for the replies.......i actually got xport 2.7 and was able to open my hard drive. i can now change my gamer score with profile editor and was able to unlock some achievements. the real question is sometimes i can copy files from my HD to PC but sometimes it wont transfer over. However i can always copy from my PC TO HD (60gigs). The second question is i used complicators save game editor to open my game and i change my bottlecaps qty and save and close. then i use Concept .2 to sign and rehash and copy back to my 60gig HD. when i load up FALLOUT 3 and try to load the game save it freezes. Am i missing something or am i not supposed to resign it any help would be great. I followed the youtube vids and pretty sure i did the steps right...but i think i am messing up the signing and rehashing...it keeps freezing up on me when i try to load game...

u get admin by right click on icon and run as admin...u can also go to properties and set to run as admin always. You have to first though give the user profile u are logged in on the computer admin rights...you can do this in control panel---user accoutns.......

I manage to finally get over the freezing problem in recoping my save game...it had to do with the Fallout 3 save games extension.....where the name of the file is add a s at the end of the extension..you can do this after you rehash and sign then copy back to HD and right click-rename-just one s at the very end. this will load your own modded saves...

you need explorer 360 extreme. Its the only version that will read partition 3 on a 120GB

can you do the game saves with just xbox 360 data transfer kit with a memory card or do i need the hardware the requires you to connect to your hard drive?
