Rumor: Gearbox looking to take in Call of Duty

OXM reports that Gearbox has registered a variety of trademark registrations for a new war game. This has led to speculation that the developer is looking to take on the almighty Call of Duty franchise.

Oh yea just what we need more war shooters. Brothers in Arms has always been the ugly step sister of CoD, Gearbox is a talented company but seems relucant to take any sort of risks whatsoever, rather than wasting time creating yet another game in a tired genre why not try to break the mold and maybe do something outside the box.
