Gaming analyst Michael Pachter has briefly mentioned the days of a 1TB Project Natal 'new' Xbox 360. He noted he does not see the timing of new releases and digital downloads being a function of anything other than hard drive sizes.

<blockquote>"I don't see the timing between new release and digital download being a function of anything other than hard drive sizes," analyst Michale Pachter told GamesIndustry.biz. "I think as soon as we have large hard drives - think the rumoured Project Natal 'new' Xbox 360 with a terabyte of storage in 2010 - we'll have day-and-date downloads."</blockquote>

What they need to do is release a reusable shell that lets you snap it around your own harddrive and use it on 360.

max 2.5 HHD size today is 500 gig.

How the hell are they going to put a terra on Xbox360?

And how fun will it be downloading 25 gig games?

if m$ didn't put a cap on the speed in which you can download, it would be fine downloading from live. i've got 50Mb/20Mb FiOS :D

Several 750gb 2.5" hdd's are due out at the end of the year and a few 1tb models are due early 2010.

As for releasing a 1tb drive for 360 i can get a 120gb oem for £30 or a 500gb oem for £68. The current sane price on a 360 drive is £50-60 (i paid £90 before the price dropped online)

I doubt anyone will pay £200 just for a 500gb ms branded drive, i agree just release the case for sale, dump the security sectors and do it PS3 style tbh thats the best feature in a console being able to upgrade your storage whenever you want.

They need to just allow us to plug external hard drives into the usb ports and have full capabilities to store games, saves, and everything else on them.

Wow..
Guess I better sell my car, house and everything i own if I want to put one on layaway.

Come on MS..
We understand your gredy... but you have to understand that people just cant afford a $150 harddrive when the same thing can be bought for $50 on ebay, just not with your stupid caseing.

Allow us the use of our own harddrives through a console ID/gamertag signing process and all will be fine. You WILL sell more xboxes..

Oh.. but then all those 120Gb hdd that Ive had in my gamestop for 3 years will go to waste oh darn.

I havent sold anything other then a 20gb in 2 years.

right now you can use a standard 120 gig drive and get it to work, but there is a chance of getting banned.

you can use a 500 gig also, but the xbox will only recognize 120 gigs ... maybe if they come out with a new drive then we can buy a bigger drive for it.

So if the 20GB is $99, and the 120GB is $199...that would make the 1TB model about $800. In relative terms, of course.
