New Jasper Motherboard with 512MB internal MU
>> Braza posted pictures of a new jasper motherboard with a 4gbit Samsung NAND inside on the XBH forums. This found has been confirmed by some of our forum members as well.
This Xbox360 is a Japanese Arcade SKU made on april 9th 2009.
The motherboard still seems like a Jasper-model, only real change seems to be the NAND. The extra space is all used to give you a larger internal memory unit. The original Aracde Jasper has a 2gbit NAND and gave users an ~214MBytes of usable internal memory as around 16MB is used by Microsoft for kernel/keyvault/dash etc. So we guess the new one should give you ~496Mbytes of usable internal MU.

I can confirm this is available in U.K.
Just yesterday I bought an Arcade pack, the box advertised that there was 256Mb of internal storage, but upon starting it up, I was surprised to see more free space then there should have been. After scanning through this article I now know that I have the lastest iteration of the Jasper board. After formatting, the internal memory read 451Mb of free space.

Heres my relevant info.

MFR Date: 2009 - 04 - 10
End of Serial/Product ID: 91505
Lot Number: 0915

Lucky bastard.

Ive been hearing people talk about this on live randomly for about a month now, some in US, some in uk.. so I guess it was just a "ship it when its done" type of thing.

But... Not only does that give you guys more space.... but... what int eh world do they need 1 Gb of nand space for for updates? thats insane.

For those of you that get duped by chinese space measurements lol.

4Gbit is 4 Gigabits, not Gigbytes. Same as when you buy a "8gb" mp4 player that seems to only hold 1gb. lol

I think I know why they added the internal memory. It's so that all their consoles from now on will automatically come with the new dashboard. A friend purchased the LE Resident Evil Elite console back in January and by default it came with the old Blade style dashboard, because it of course had no internal storage.

that's not true. nxe can run without a hdd and internal memory. also the resident evil limited edition console actually is just a red jasper with 120GB hdd, so it comes with 256 MB onboard.

What I mean is that before the new dashboard had to be downloaded as an update, either to a Memory Unit or HDD. As we know the update is 128Mb. By including internal storage of 256Mb or 512Mb, Microsoft can ensure that all new consoles made will not need to download the dashboard as it can simply be loaded into that storage instead.

lol @ lucky bastard.

what's so much better about a few hunrdred mb of extra space ? lol.

now if the board has some better rrod deterent capabilities then i would really want it, if not then who cares.
