View Full Version : Meet the $300 Xbox 360 Arcade Stick
The peripheral formerly known as Twin Sticks EX is coming out for the Xbox 360. The product will cost $300 USD, and that's about the price of a fully equipped Xbox 360 in Japan.

Home versions of the Virtual On games have offered control schemes adapted to standard controllers, but in the past Sega has usually also released a special Twin Sticks device to mimic the arcade version's controls. This was unlikely for the XLA version of the game, as a special peripheral for a download-only title is pretty much unheard of.
Sure enough, the announcement of the Xbox 360 peripheral, formally known as Twin Sticks EX, came with a catch. The device will be sold for 30,000 yen, or around $300 US. That's about the same price as a fully equipped Xbox 360 console over there. Furthermore, the device is pre-order only, and if Hori does not get enough pre-orders, it will cancel production.
So what will your $300 get you? This:

I love virtual on and the game is classic. I baught it day 1 it came out on xbox live.
But come one... Thats retarded. Its not like virtual on was the hugest franchise game ever. Ill stick with my control pad, 300 for that is a ripoff.
Note to sega if your gonna make a expensive game addon... atleast make a new game to go with it. Virtual on is classic but its still a old game.

it'll probably sell out, become rare as hell and become even more valuable on the 2nd hand market.
This isn't intended for western markets, it's dedicated to the 30 percent of japanese gamers who responded, "Yes I will preorder this."

Anyone figure out a way to connect the Sega Saturn or Dreamcast twin sticks to the 360 yet?

Yeah this one will sell out, i've seen a few posts where people are excited about this and have pre-ordered already. What allot don't realise that VOOT has a diehard fanbase that will drap out this type of money.
Man I thought the MadCatz FightStick TE was expensive...but considering the conversion rate this works out only £35 more expensive, but you can play the TE on more than one game, so much better deal.

Yeah, it's easily done, just head over to the Oratan (http://www.oratan.com/forum/) forums, everything you need to know is there.
Just add a common ground Madcatz 360 pad, wired up to the correct places and that's it!

How many damn buttons do you want? There's 6 on the base, and 2 in each stick! (A trigger and a button on the top)
As for this thing failing........no it won't, there's plenty of morons in Japan as there are anywhere else. Think of all the idiots that forked over money for the controller for Steel Batallion for Xbox.
There are MANY more special controllers for games released in Japan, twin sticks were released for Saturn for the original VO AND for VO:OT on Dreamcast.

It's a stick for virtual-on, thats the number of buttons the game needs, just like the SF4 pads and sticks don't have analogue or triggers, it was designed for one game and that game doesn't need them.
