I'm having this really weird issue. I have a launch Wii console, that is running v3.0U with the twilight hack. I am using the Nintendo composite cables and a Samsung 1080p DLP.

Here is my issue, I have no issue turning the system on and getting to the Wii menu. However when I go to launch a back up from the back up launcher it literally turns my tv off. The system itself also seems to freeze as hitting the power button does nothing and I have to unplug the ad adapter in order to turn the system off.

This only happens on my HDTV, it works perfectly on my SDTV with no issues. I have tried this with Mario Galaxy and Boom Blox, both of which are NTSC which is my region

is this a known issue at all? has anyone else experienced this?

any suggestion or advice on this would be greatly appreciated as I'd much rather play on my 56" hdtv then my 27" sdtv

Are you trying to launch a PAL backup on a NTSC Wii or vice versa? With some games this causes my Wii to freeze but the TV has never turned off - just black screen. The backup launcher has an option to force NTSC or PAL. When I force NTSC to match my TV/Wii it launches fine but sometimes freezes when I go back to the Wii system mneu.

Have you tried it with a component cable instead of composite?

Does this happen with any other homebrew? Are you using the latest files of everything?
