Could not get a clear answer So here is my question :)

I would like to upgrade my Wii (PAL) fitted with a wiikey v1 to firmware 4.0 without losing any homebrew functionality. Which steps should I follow, latest homebrew channel already running.

thanks!

My Wii is similar to yours, its running Wiikey v1 1.9s and was on 3.2U menu. I first installed BootMii which installed onto boot2 and did a NAND backup. I then followed a tutorial that had me install cIOS rev10 and IOS60 trucha patched, then I updated to 4.0U menu through the internet connection test. As far as I can tell everything is working properly, homebrew works correctly, but I don't have any trucha disks to test that part with.

There was a tool released some time ago which allows you to upgrade to 4.0 while retaining most homebrew functionality.

Try method 2 first.
