hi guys , i got the back up of pro evolution soccer 2009 and it wont load , when i turn on the wii i have the pro evolution soccer 2009 channel there so i click it as per normal and it comes up with the pro evolution background so then i click the start button to the load the game as per normal but when i do this it just goes to a black screen and i cannot hear the disk spinning and then nothing happens after that just a black screen ?

i have a hard modded wii with wiikey original installed , i also have the soft mod for dummies installed on it although i have deleted the back up loader from this as i am hard modded i have starfall installed and have 3.2e firmware for wii with 1.9s firmware for wiikey

i have not had any problems with booting games , anyone no what my problem is ? i really do hope so , ive been waiting for this day for ages as we can now play this game with classic controller !

IOs are small "patches" for the nintendo Wii...I wont go into details, but they are small fragments of programs needed for certain games. Pes 2009 needs those, but you dont need to update the wii, you just install the required elements without falling into devilish Nintendo updates ..;)

here is how to do...

Search for a program called WUFE ( Google "homebrew Wufe Wii" ) , this extracts IOS and patches from updates included on certain discs ( on your case PES 2009 ) ,

Just insert the disc and run WUFE from your Homebrew channel...ahh i guess you have one, alright..!! No need toe xplain that, if you dont, so do the twilicht hack stuff..

All updates files will go to your SD card's Root on your Wii, copy those files to your computer ( mayeb you need them later..) , and just leave the ios38, ios53, ios55 files on your SD card ( move them to your "WAD" folder ).. the extraction take s a while and be sure to have enough free space on your SD card, like 200-300MB mb to be safe, before using WUFE...it takes a couple of minutes to extract all the files, so dont alarm... you will see a loooong list.. even photchannels, and stuff like that..

After that plain and simple, install every IOS from your Homebrew channel as if were a "wad" (ios38, ios53, ios55 ) ...one by one... they arent "channels", so dont worry.

Reboot your Wii, and voila, you "updated" your Wii without worrying with "official" updates. If you have a Chip that blocks updates, enable it to avoid them.

You also can use a Disc like madworld, or the last Sonic to extract the required files..

as i said on my above post i have already played the disk through the back up launcher so is there any need to do this ¬wufe¬ thing ? perhaps not or should i really do it ?

Well, if you have a hardmodded wii, why bother with backup launcher... :confused:
And yes, the game needs those "patches" regardless.. madworld, Sonic, and newer games will do too..

Wufe is just an aplication, doesnt hurt your Wii at all, is not a "channel", it runs directly from your SD and extracts to your SD root, completely safe AND you can be sure your files are clean , and not downloaded from internet, with a dubious background. ;)

I think you didnt read my reply properly, I said you use wufe to extract the patches from the disc itself..:o Read it again.
Those files are hard to find on internet, but not THAT hard, but if you have the disc, why to take a risk with strangers? ;)
Just use WUFE... extract, copy, patch..

You cant choose what to extract, all the update files goes to your SD root, as explained before, but you will need to use your PC again to move the required files ( 38, 53 and 55 ) to your WAD folder.. you know wadmanager just isntall wads from the "wad" folder.

Put yoiur SD on your Wii again

Install them normally using wadmanager 1.3. ( 38, 53 , 55 )

I assume you have HBC, and you know about installing wads, for sure.

-Place your SD on your PC, Install Wufe ( on your SD fodler aplications ), you know that.

-Insert SD on Wii, Insert the Disk ( Pes2009, madworld, whatever doesnt matter ), and run Wufe from the HBC, follow the instructions ( press Button to accept, etc etc ..kind of )

-After all extracted ( takes a while, dont alarm..) , place your SDcard back on your PC again, and put the IOS 38, IOS 53 and IOS 55 files on your WAD folder. The others on your Root you can delete or keep on your PC, doesnt matter.
Just 38 , 53 and 55 msut be on your WAD folder. thats all. ;)

Put SD back on Wii, and run the Wad manager ...


Keep in mind that you may need to repeat this again on the future, with newer games that force updated (require newer IOS ), will probably say thigns like " this game requires IOS XX and IOS XX ).

BTW, PES2009 uses kind of Wii24 feature, that I dont have it enabled on my WII, I dont know what it does, but if you didnt setup, then will pop up and "incident error" about, doesnt affects the game as far as I know.

hi there ive put the wufe folder in applications folder on my wii sd card and when i try to load from hbc it tells me that "THIS IS NOT A VALID WII APPLICATION" the file in the wufefolder is named "boot.elf"

do i have to get the correct region file i.e pal/ntsc or do i need to rename the file ? plz help thanks

ok ive sorted out the boot.elf thing and managed to get a boot.dol file and its proccesing at the moment

once i have installed the 38.53.55 files via wad manager can i then delete them from my memory card , or will i have to keep them on the root , cheers

You can delete them ( from SD card ) , no problem, if you need to uninstall them from Wii use the "anytitle deleter", I dotn think you will need to do that anyways.

PES2009 on wii is jsut so cool... is amazing, no less.. screw the PC version :D:D

Ah sorry m8, 3.2e, wiikey, hbc I used anytitle deleter and it never had the ios's required. I also installed backup launcher .3 Gamma.

The only two wads that yufe game me were IOS9-64-v516.wad and BOOT2-64-v2.wad.

Try to get a file that you didnt patch, most certainly the patch remved all the files from the ISO sector. Get a Clean iso, you also can download the needed files if you use google a bit, I find it quite risky, but is an option.

Well I tried the latter, risky it may have been but it worked. I did have in incline it was the fact I used brickblocker but not 100%sure when it comes to IOS's, I've been away from the scene for so long it all looked totally new again. I think I've got a grip of it now though. :)

just get ios patcher v1.1 drag and drop the game.iso onto it and change the numbers then burn the game, im softmodded and have no probs with any games part from odd video glitches n maybe odd cant read disc which i eject and re-insert and the game continues from where it crashed

But that means you need to patch an ISO everytime.. :( , if something happens on the future, you will need a 'repatch"..again.. better to copy an IOS or two into the Wii.

Hi guys, i have read through all the information posted on here and for the life of me i cannot work it out. Let me begin by saying im am no Wii wizz. I have purchased my Wii from Hong Kong last year, and have no idea what kind of Mod Chio it has in it. I have downloaded games prior and used region frii and brickblocker then burned them via image burn, no probs. I have then tried the same with PES 2009 but get the same problem as everyone else with the black screen thing. I have downloaded WUFE and placed it in the applications folder (homebrew was installed for me buy the guy in HK) So i go into this folder via Homebrew Channel and then click on WUFE and press A. Nothing happens from there, all it says is setting up drive.... nothing happens.
Please help, i have so tried to follow all instructions before reposting the same question as others, but as you can tell im having no luck. If it helps, i think my Wii was Japanese but converted to PAL or something, i also have alsorts of other stuff on my SD card that the guy in HK put on for me like Wii load, Geexbox, SNESROMS, homebrew browser. Anyway i have Ver.3.3E.

IOS Version Patcher by Waninkoko.................This application patches the data that specifies which IOS version to use to execute a Wii game.

HOW TO USE:

Just drag the Wii game ISO onto the executable and input an IOS
version.
For most games, IOS version 30 is recommended (IOS30, firmware 3.0 and higher)

though when you run it some new games are 33 or higher so i just put 249

I then placed it in the wii and tried to run it through Homebrew Channel!! And what do you know it didnt work, im sorry to be a pain but what did i do wrong. It reads Exception (DSI) occured with alot of numbers underneath, then it says Code Dump with more numbers. Nothing happens after this. Please help!!!!

Wufe will rip the content you need to "patch" your Wii ( the IOS) so you need a CLEAN ISO ( no patching ).. Burn the game , without patching, and then use Wufe from Homebrew channel. I dont know what the patch exactly does, but maybe mess with the files you need so dont use it. Just burn it normally. Then Wufe. Read some posts above, another people asked the same things. ;)

Hi all:
I have a 3.2U wii with HBC and starfall installed.
Some days ago i was trying to play Punch out with no luck (black screen after launching). I then installed IOS38-64-v3609.wad IOS53-64-v4113.wad IOS55-64-v4633.wad using the HBC (found them on the internet) and I was able to play with no problems.
Now I am trying to play PES'09 (brickblocked patched copy) and I get the same black screen after launching the game.
Is there a possibility that I need another IOS than the ones I already installed (I found a patched IOS60 for example)?.
or,
Do I need to update the IOS I already installed (extracting them from the PES unpatched iso file)?

By the way in the case that I needed to update the IOS 38, 53,55, DO i just rerun the .wad using the HBC and it will install in top of the old ones?
