View Full Version : Wii DVD Dumper 1.3 help with Wifi
I cannot get this to work on wifi with IE or Firefox using a WII and Gamecube Original, as it keeps saying:
ERROR: Could not parse client request! (ret =1)
Sending index.html....ERROR (Ret = -10056
"
"
"
"
"
I have tested the Wii's Ip via Ping and its sending and recieving packets, so there is no issue there. I have disabled my firewall, etc but no joy.
Any ideas??

Try using v1.2 instead.
I tried v1.3 and got the same error... but many resets later it eventually initialised the network.
That wasn't useful though, as with both Firefox and I.E there was no page on the browser, but forcing the address to 192.168.xx.xx/xxxx.iso (insert your own details) and the page appeared in I.E, but of course I.E only downloads 378Mb, which is useless.
Under Firefox, no page appears at all, even if you force it.
Went back to v1.2: works fine under both IE and Firefox, and connects to the network quickly almost every time, so something screwy going on with v1.3.
As there's no notes to indicate what has been 'improved' with v1.3, no point in using it until a working version comes out...
Would be useful if it supported SDHC next time too, as both versions error to an SDHC card and wifi is flaky as anything, even when it does work.

I think a true windows (or java) client is needed, after all, it is a pain to have a download fail after 3 hours with no way to resume.

there seems to be something in there that IE does not like .
i know on V1.2 i can See the Index.html. but if i click on the link its a Bad link .. (end up with Sending index.html....ERROR (Ret = -10056))
on V1.3 i cant even get to the Index.html (Gets Sending index.html....ERROR (Ret = -10056)
though on v1.2 i can use FireFox3 to download with no Problems at all .. took 2h to backup one of the games i own ..
so dont know if its just a bug or not but for now i will stick with 1.2
I went back to 1.2 and all is okay. Must be a bug in the 1.3 code like you guys mentioned. Sticking with this until it is completely necessary to upgrade to newer versions. Thanks to all for the input.
