xecuter 2 softmod?

I want to softmod my xbox with xecuter 2 bios. It is already softmodded with some other crap bios and I am willing to open up my xbox and solder inside of it.

I am presuming because you mentioned an xecuter 2 bios that the xbox has had its TSOP flashed. In this case simply flash it by FTPing a bios over to the evox BIOS folder and choose flash from evox's menu. Just be sure that the bios is set to boot the correct .xbe for your dashboard first.

If however you meant that you have a softmodded xbox (gamesave exploit) and you want to upgrade that by flashing the TSOP then just bridge the correct points on the board near the LPC to enable the write function and FTP over either raincoat 0.7 or Evolution X dashboard which you can use to flash it with the bios of your choice (of course you'll also need to FTP over the bios file).

If you arent running evox as your dashboard you can simply ftp it over to your apps folder and run it by pressing A on the default.xbe in the evox folder.

Depending on your version xbox you may need to bridge 2 sets of points on the mainboard to enable the write function which may require the board to be removed (required points may be on the bottom).

thanks, my xbox is soft-modded but it had to be opened to repair once so it's not a big deal. I bridged the points and now I am looking for the latest x2 256k bios

(the newer bios are 512k and un-splitable so people don't do what I'm doing) although I don't feel guilty about using these bios because I have an unused xecuter 3 anyways. (This was a murdered lpc/ fragging xbox when I got it thats Why I am not installing the x3, the lpc traces are burned off.)

latest X2 bios is X2 5035 from the usual places (google auto xbins 2008) but i think its only 512/1mb bios iirc. X2 4981 or 4983 works great and is 256kb and stable, just be sure to get the right version depending on any hard drive upgrades you may be also doing (4981.06 for up to 137gb, 4981.67 for larger drives)

I got the bios, made the solder bridge and took unleash X and renamed it avalaunch.xbe then placed it in both the C and E partion with all of its files.

That should work right?

but when I boot up evo-x (build 3935) and go to system utils and flash bios, I choose the bios that support larger drives just in case I upgrade and I get the following error.

Flash BIOS
Manufactures ID 09 Device ID 00
!! Unknown Flash Type !!

did I make the solder bridges wrong or something?


edit: I added this to my ini file

Now it gave me the option to flash
Manufacture ID da
Device ID 8c

It has said erasing. for about 2 minutes now and the screen hasn't changed. Can I turn off my xbox or will the Tsop be... dead :confused:



double edit: I duct taped the power cord in and carefully unscrewed my xbox. I then used the flats of two screws to try and make the bridge walla, It went up an 8th in progress of erasing. I then got nervous and came to wite this post :D

well I found the right spot and it erased and flashed and gave me the turn off your xbox message but now it FRAGs!!!!!

trys to boot 3 times and the flashes read and green!

Why?!?! I used 256k bios!!!

FRAG = Faulty Install, Black Screen = New Xbox/Old Bios

edit: I guess I'm going to have to rebuild the burnt traces with pencil and install my xecuter 3 :mad:

quadruple edit :) :Well the Xecuter 3 chip is almost installed. I just need a potentometer thing to check whats not properly soldered in. In a worse case scenario, I have another 1.0 xbox that was chipped by a random guy I payed so I don't know much about the original installation of the x3 but It is broken beyond repair so I removed the chip and I was wondering, would that xbox have standard bios on the tsop? I might be able to do a tsop transplant then.
