This a complete guide on how to get the backup launcher 0.3g running on your wii

Why use the loader?
It saves you a heep of cash because there is no need to go and buy an actuall chip and install it.

WARNING!
I will not take any responsibility for what happens
to your wii.

Ok lets get started
First of al you will need some files. I will include thesefiles in this thread as attachments. These are the files you will be needing:

asuming you have the homebrew channel you will need:

the wad manager
the backup launcher (of course)
the cios installer
and the backup launcher channel

1: Make sure you do not have 3.4 firmware because it does not work with this firmware. Read up on google about downgrading your wii before doing this.

2: asuming you have the homebrew channel (if you dont read up on how to install) and you have to have homebrew channel 8 or lower. now drag the cios installer into your apps folder on the route of your sd card (if you do not have an apps folder create one).

3: now make your way to you wii , put the sd into the wii and go to the homebrew browser. you should see an icon that has sonic on the front click on that and run it. now you will get a warning screen just say yes i agree . for this part you must have wireless . once agian you must read up on it if you do not have wireless there is a way around it trust me. now it will install the cios just wait and if you do get an error restart the cios installer.

4: once you have completed this procces we will now install the backup loader. go back to your computer and put the backup launcher folder in your apps folder . this should now appear in your homebrew channel menu. next drag your wad manager folder to your apps folder and in your sd route directory make a folder called WAD and drag the backaup launcher wad file into there. now go back to your wii and go to wad manager in the homebrew channel menu and run it . now install the wad file. the wii will restart if you hit the home button. notice there is a backaup launcher channel? that is for loading the games without having to go into the homrbrew channel and loading the laucher.

you are now done you can get your backup from whichever source you like and play them. but if you get a 002 error you will have to load the game from the homebrew channel.

Any problems post in the tread . Good luck. TFG555

I basically did the same thing in this guide except install a backup launcher channel. But I'm on homebrew channel 8, installed the cIOS installer successfully and whenever I launch my games from inside the homebrew channel I get error 324 or error 384. I tried 3 different burners, 3 different media brands of DVD-R, and 3 different write speeds (2.4x, 4x, 8x), and 5 different ISO's. So what am I doing wrong??? I'm very desperate, I've been at this for a while now.

Can someone just send me some backup dvd copies to my home address so I can tell whether it is a dvd issue or something to do with my wii?? Or I could even send you some of my burned copies and you could tell me if they work on your wii or not.

i have the same problem
i have gotten one game to boot, but all the others give me the 324 error
the one game i have gotten to boot is the first truama center game
no clue what i am doing wrong i have tried everything, things seem to be installing correctly, i have been told it is the way i am burning the games but i have tried numerous speeds, changed the booktype, and i have wasted at least 10 dvds trying to get this to work =[

when i did mine the first attempt i used the beta version and the games did not work so i got the downgrader and although menu settings is saying 3.3e apparently i have 3.2with all the updates of 3.3 i dont know how true this is but that is what the guide said would happen maybe you should try downgrading first which will also reset wii back too original status then retry installing gamma .as for media im currently using woolworths own brand discs which i bought for £1.50 for 10 what a bargain and they work perfectly have not had one bad disc yet using image burn with default settings .

I got a ton of 324 errors at first. It's the media 99% of the time, not the burner.

Get Verbatim DVD-R with 'DataLifePlus'. It's special-treated media that prevents oxidation. The Wii is extremely sensitive to oxidation. I bought mine cheap from Meritline.com (product #102-268-050).

I've seen guides say to burn at 1x, but I've burned at least 40-45 games in the past month at 8x on these guys. Not a single error anymore.

(I burned 70% or so of my games using a Lite-On LH-20A1L-06 and the rest on an LG GSA-H55N -- it doesn't seem to make any difference, they all play very well.)

ok so heres my problem i have v 3.3 of the wii, i installed the zelda hack from wii hack.com and now have the homebrew channel, i used your totorial guide to try to install the cios and the other files. I start with the cios and do as you say putting it onto my sd card into the apps folder with all the other apps that are on my homebrew channel, but when i go to put it in the wii and go onto the homebrew channel to see the sonic icon it is not there. I went into the option menu in the wii...to look at the sd card and it does not register at all. I dont know what im doing wrong? I have version beta 9 IOS36 for the homebrew channel dont know if that means anything. I would appreiciate any help you could give me. i have tried other totorials and have gotten no were. Thanks.

Format the SD card in your PC, then put the files back on it and try again.

I have had a couple of times where the SD card went "dead" and needed to be reformatted before the wii would see it.

if using vista format the card using (fat) then just drag and drop files onto it , if using dummie guide just dont format the card when in install.bat (command prompt) and also make sure you have cios rev7 cos a lot of new games wont run

I'm on step nr.4
I dont seem to get the backuplancher channel working though... Ordinary backuplancher works and all that. But I cant run the WAD file, all that pops up on my wii homebrew channel is (backuplancher, cios installer etc, and) "/apps/Wad manager/boot. <no description>"

I did as I was told in the guide; place the Wad manager in the apps folder, and create a new folder "WAD" with the file BackupLauncher_03g_Wiiish_v2_EN.wad..

thank you for your time!

Start Homebrew Channel

Goto "/apps/Wad manager/boot. <no description>" And Run It

Wad Manager Will Then List The Wads In The Wad Folder

Use The Up/Down To Move The "+" Next To The First Wad In The List

Till You Get The "+" Next To " BackupLauncher_03g_Wiiish_v2_EN.wad.. "

Then Press The "+" Button On The Remote

The Channel Will Then Install And You Will Then See It In The Wii

Channel Screen

Hope This Helps
