questions on anyregionchanger 1.1

i currently have firmware 3.1u and want to upgrade to 3.2u. I have a chipped drive with the d2ckey. i have read that you can use anyregionchanger 1.1 to upgrade from 3.1 to 3.2 and even downgrade, but i have the hbc installed and on the hbc site it says it can only be used with chipped machines on 3.2 and under, i don't want to lose my hbc, but i feel as though i'm unsure on how to use this anyregionchanger to upgrade, i'm not even sure what in that folder needs to be on the sdcard to run it. i also had installed gecko os in the hbc because it said in the homebrew browser that it included the anyregionchanger but i did not see it in there, or at least even know how to activate it.

also i read i need the libogc patches to be patched? how does one do this? i've been reading for two days now, but it seems the further i investigate, the deeper and more confusing it all reads and sounds. am i just being a dumbass or is it easier than i'm making it out to be?

I have a few questions about this also. When updating/downgrading to system menu 3.2 does it get the files from the Nintendo Update Server via wifi or are the update files contained locally?
