Gears of War 2 vs. Halo 3

IGN have pitted 'Gears of War 2' and 'Halo 3' against one another to decide once and for all which is the better game. Their six categories for consideration were: Graphics, Sound, Story, Gameplay, Feature Set, and Multiplayer. 'Gears of War 2' only 'beat Halo 3' in the 'graphics' and 'story' categories which meant that 'Halo 3' came out on top.

HAHAHA WOW!!! i hated halo3. it was a good shooter but compared to gears2,no way. only thing that halo3 was better than gears2 is the multiplayer,thats it,IMO.i mean i play gears2 alot now,on multiplayer.something i didnt do much on gears1 and i hardly played halo3 multiplayer,well only for achieves,then it was a wrap for me. bad calls on this one here.

GoW 2 is much better than Halo 3, halo 3 is an OK game but nothing extraordinary (although the multiplayer is very fun) :)

Although I do love playing Gears of War 2, Halo 3 just seems to have more replay value. Though the Horde mode is great, and I hope to see a mode like this in many games to come, Halo 3 just has more fun features. I spend a lot more time in custom games with my friends just playing games like Duck Hunt, Braaains, and many others. Gears 2 multiplayer is very fun, but after playing the few modes it has, it gets old. I got Halo 3 nearly a year ago, and I still play it a lot.

Thats just my opinion though. So no one freak out.

And what the hell does a platformer on a Nintendo system have to do with a comparison between a TPS and a FPS comparison on the XBox 360?

So you are telling me Mario's "Ah ha" sounds better than a lancer's chainsaw ripping through the chest of an enemy and hearing the "SPLATTER" and trampling over the remains of said enemy. Kicking those parts around as you maneuver through the corpse infested room you just cleared out. Yep...much better sound and I can see your logic used there applied throughout your entire post.:rolleyes:

Halo 3 better than Gears? Laughable. They're different genres (FPS vs 3rd) anywho so apples and oranges, but Gears (1 or 2 in my opinion) is/are much better gaming experiences than Halo 3 will ever be.

Halo 3 sits with Gun , PDZ and Smackdown/s in my collection of 360 games that could/should have been Xbox 1 games.

I have to disagree with you I'm afraid.
While the XBOX360 does have major flaws I think the console is a decent console.
As for the comment on Halo 3 being "rubbish", I agree. I found the campaign bored me after around 30 minutes and the gameplay was fir for the original XBOX.
Gears of War 2 on the other hand, I thought was pretty good. I don't own the game but I played the game at a friends house and I found the game to be a decent game.
I'm not buying the game yet but I will definately be buying the game.

I'd probably say Gears of War 2 beats resistance. I wasn't really a big fan of resistance, played it at a friends for around 20 minutes before the boredom kicked in. Gears of War 2, on the other hand, I found I could play for a good few hours before I started to get bored. Although, I played the online feature and I'm not a big fan of online gaming.
