NXE increases active downloads queue from six to 40

It has been confirmed that the New Xbox Experience increases the active downloads queue from six entries to a massive 40. MS say this makes it much easier to fill your hard drive with lots of great stuff, its just a pity that much of the hard drives out there in the 360 are so small!

120 isn't but my 20 gig hdd is way to small, that's why I haven't even installed nxe on my 360... and the bigger hdd's are way the heck to expensive...

I got 120's on all 3 of my 360's. HOWEVER i don't download from live as much as i used to.

Didn't know about this, I finally decided to download everything again that was originally dl'ed on my pro box so the keys were updated for my elite and noticed that it wasn't giving that message that the queue was full.

Wish they had a download all option for that purpose but otherwise its a nice little addition that wasn't mentioned with the update.

Sometimes I don't tend to use my 360 for a long period of time and when there's time I log onto live and check to see what demos are available + download any that interest me. God this has made a lot of difference, being able to add more onto the download list as opposed to a mere six :D

great, now they just have to allow simultaneous downloads. my connection is capable of far faster speeds than what xbl gives me, which is odd since the MS sites were always some of the fastest ones for testing throughput back when I ran windows on my PCs (downloading service packs for example).

from how long it takes to download ~300MB i'd estimate I only get 150-200kbps which is frankly pathetic. bittorrent goes faster than that

I don't know what a how to allow is. As for download speeds - Given the amount of people on Live, wouldn't you think MS throttles everyone to distribute bandwidth evenly? What torrent have you been a part of that has millions of leechers on it. The main point of Live is to enjoy lag free gaming.

The Queue thing rocks... unfortunately they made the Marketplace a pain in the arse to download things off of now. Good thing I can Queue up things from Xbox.com...
