Amibitious modder attempts to make a slot loading Xbox 360

One ambitious modder has set out to make a slot loading Xbox 360 by modifying an iMac DVD drive. He says its 99.9% functional and has provided a video of it loading and booting PGR3. <i>Next it's all going to be torn down and be rewired, mainly for the Optical sensors as what's in there now is just a mess, and I'll see about how I'm going to go mounting the board and running all of those cables as well, try to make it actually look something like a drive again. Then get into the mess of mounting it inside the 360.</i>

The irony is the console will probably banned bacuse of the difference in voltage between this, and the original drive

I better mod if you ask me would be to make the 360 cooler by moving the optical drive into a seperate unit maybe a slot loading drive, maybe make it an external drive along with the hard drive.

Could be cooler and quieter :)
