View Full Version : Is it possible to connect the x360 hdd to pc?

has anyone tried this? is it locked like the original xbox?

what about a swap trick to get the pc to pick it up... it does use a standard sata connection doesn't it?

if this has been bought up already please delete the thread...

i'm just wondering if its been done to just see whats on the hdd

well on the original XBOX, even besides the locking, the partitioning of the XBOX hard drive was not the same as on the PC, so if you tried to hook up even an XBOX hard drive to a PC, you wouldn't see anything on it (there are some utilities that let you see some basic information, but they are not reliable in my experience).

My bet is that the xbox 360 is probably similarly locked, with a different partition structure than either the XBOX or the PC.

The Xbox360 hard drives may be locked, but not to any specific console, since you can just purchase one and stick it in, or take it to a friends house, and plug it into their Xbox360 console.

The data on the drive is encrypted so you can only read it in a xbox 360.

i do realise the filesystem is different... i have softmodded many xbox's
