Gears of War 2 will not be released in Japan or Germany

Microsoft as announced that Gears of War 2 will not be available in Germany or Japan indefinitely. The decision not to release the game in Japan has surprised some as it was one of the first Xbox 360 titles to perform well in the Japanese software charts. The game will not be released in Germany as its ratings body refused to give the game an age certificate.

Will not be sold officially doesn't mean banned, Gears1 was imported in Germany you can sell it but you can't advertise for it.

In my opinion that's just rediculous on Germany's part.
If they won't rate a game then they can't have a game released there.
Just rate the game an 18 like the rest of the world and be done with it.

You might still advertise 18 rated games. Unrated games are too violent to even do taht :rolleyes: (They think that underage kids don't want the game if they don't know it. Maybe someone should introduce them to a thing called internet). But that's ok I could live with that. But do they really have to ban the DLC ? Does this make any sense?

Rating bodies are ridiculously sensitive here. Some politicians basically demand any game involving a gun and violence be banned completely. Some go as far as wanting to make it illegal to sell/posses. Its just nuts. Thank god i only care for the single player/coop and can easily import it from austria etc.

The Game is not the problem. You can get it when you're old enough. But you can't get the DLC without taking your 360 to another country. (Or with some technical tricks it COULD be possible but it's just not fair)
Also, in some games Germans have their own servers, shut away from all the other countries!

The first one got an rating and it was sold in Germany. Either Microsoft is too stupid or its kind of a marketing gag. Wooo its banned in germany!!!!

thats why its region free im sure tons and tons are gonna be imported.
