A while ago, the web was full of reports that Gears of War 2 was leaked, although the supposed 'leak' was very difficult. Well today, it seems a sure fire leak of Gears of War 2 has hit torrent sites and newsgroups with thousands downloading the title illegally in advance of its November 7th release. The illegal image of the game weighs in at a 6.7GB download and the source of the leak seems to be an NTSC copy. Over 'n out on this one...

It's not really bad news for MS or Epic because even if the game hadn't been leaked, those people downloading it today would probably have downloaded when it was released. They aren't losing any more customers because of this.

I still think there are a very small group of piracy when it comes down with the
360, otherwise the xbox360 haven`t had this tremendus software sales. But ofcourse they lose alot to the piracy, but I think nintendo got bigger problem then with piracy then what MS have. Sad anyway for the industry..

I really feel bad for the torrent people out there with all the ISP throttling going on.

looking at the massive number of people who download xbox360 games makes one wonder if the games truely sell in their millions or if someone is fiddling with the real number !??

yeah i know, but MS did claim a couple months back that GOW2 and Fable2 would have NXE on disc.
Not that many people have modded 360s..

A lite on drive can not be done true but their are still ways around this problem if you really want to.........and as said this will still sell bucket loads ive mine on pre order cant wait :)

Most of the pre Lite On crowd, eh? So what.... you're saying maybe only 12-15 million consoles are modded? Use some common sence. How do you explain why the 360 has a higher attach rate than the other 2 consoles combined?
It's been estimated that the number of modded 360 consoles are in the low 10,000s.
I'll dig up where I read that and post back.

most people i know don't wana mod there console deu to the bad experiences they had with the modding of there previous consoles.
those who do, are mostly the hardcore fans.
from my friends who have modded there console, its just too get the games before they are released,and still buy there favorites.

i'm sure if this gets proper investigated then microsoft will be found guilty of some fraud.

Your perception is that the 360 is riddled with piracy and yet the attach rate shows otherwise. Even hardened pirates will purchase some games, because having the complete product will always be better than a pirated copy. Microsofts fat cheques could never replace good software sales.
The only thing that is questionable is how you persist with this Sony Fanboism.

This game is fucking awesome!!!!! I like the training mode they provide. It gives you the since you're playing online without actually playing online. Just finished fighting my way out of the giant worm. This game is a lot bloodier than the first one.
