Journalist: After GTA IV's massive 360 success, un-surprising to see MGS 4 on 360

number of UK gaming journalists have revealed a lack of surprise at the heavy rumor floating around regarding MGS 4 and its seemingly destined path to the Xbox 360. An editor at the official Xbox 360 magazine noted that after the huge success of GTA IV on the 360 and recent news of Tekken 6 coming to the 360, it certainly would be NO surprise for Konami to follow suit. He added that the big news would be if Konami launched the next game in the series on the Xbox as well as PS3.


"After the massive success of GTA IV on Xbox 360, and the recent announcement of previously Playstation exclusives Final Fantasy and Tekken 6 coming to the platform, it'd be no surprise for Konami to follow suit," thinks Editor of Official Xbox 360 magazine, Jon Hicks.

"The huge install base of the console, particularly in the US, means it's missing out on lots of customers by sticking to the PS3. Of course, Konami has ported MGS for other platforms before – the real news would be if it launched the next game in the series on the Xbox as well as the PS3."

seriously, all the consolefagotry aside, this is what gaming is all about, getting the console you can afford and enjoy the games on it, i know someone is gonna yell out 500 dvds or Sony can't even keep one game, but at the end of the day, i'd rather play the games i love on a flawed console, whatever it may be, than have a perfect console and no game, and that's not a stab at PS3, you know with but a flip of a coin ps3 could have had massive hardware failures, and 360 a shallow selection. and i'd still pick the cheaper one with the selection i want, brand loyalty is for retarded people, just as companies do, you should all only care for yourself.

sigh, if it goes 360 then great, but given that it's not that likley now then it would be far better to hold off these rumours until anyhting certain is released.

I supsect if by the slim chance it is released ont he 360 then it will be a substance style version, which seems to be Konami's workaround for contrat issues with Sony (who don't pay for games of course :rolleyes:)

I'll just be happy I played and finnished it months ago and it is now gathering dust

TechRadar has spoken to a Konami rep in the UK, who tells us that the company has no plans right now to release MGS4 on any format other than PlayStation 3. This is the real news.

That doesnt' state IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN. Business is all about generating revenue. It's a fact this game wasn't a system seller. It would be a smart move for Konami, financial wise, to publish this for the Xbox 360.

If Square/Enix jumped ship on FF series, I can't see why Konami won't.
