EA Confirms Obama paid for in-game advertising in Burnout

Last week, reports surfaced that there were sightings of an 'Obama for President' billboard in Burnout Paradise on the Xbox 360. And today EA has confirmed that the Obama campaign did indeed pay them the big bucks for in-game advertising on the game although EA were quick to note that these ads do not reflect the political policies of EA.


Last week we noted unconfirmed sightings of an “Obama for President” billboard in the Xbox 360 racing game Burnout Paradise. Today we’re able to report that it is, in fact, an official advertisement placed by the senator’s campaign team.

“I can confirm that the Obama campaign has paid for in-game advertising in Burnout,” Holly Rockwood, director of corporate communications at Electronic Arts, the game’s publisher, told me via email, noting that EA regularly allows ad placements in their online games. “Like most television, radio and print outlets, we accept advertising from credible political candidates,” she continued. “Like political spots on the television networks, these ads do not reflect the political policies of EA or the opinions of its development teams.”

Right to free speech doesn't mean tv and radio stations are obligate to air what you have to say and if free speech somehow applies to advertising it doesn't mean that advertising company is in any way obligated to advertise for anyone. two of the biggest guys that caused fannie mae and freddie mack to go under that started this economic bailout in the first place are obama's two top financial advisors. they cooked the books that cause alot of what is happening, all the while giving obama boat loads of cash. this is all on record. the top democrats at the time said everything was fine while people, especially mccain said that freddie and fannie needed to be watched because they where corrupt. if there is a federal investigation it would be very bad for obama, even if he was in the white house as president.

and obama's solutions for education and health care to name a few are very socialist.

i was reading about bill ayers and how about 20 seconds seperated him from being a murderer. one of the buildings him and a group of people went after had a young mother and her young daughter, i think she was either 3 or 5, they got out 20 seconds before the bomb went off.

Umm might want to look beyond republican talking points and do some research. Look up the names Geoffrey T. Boisi and Richard F. Hohlt (hint the first was a freddie board member while the other was the lead lobbyist for Fannie) now go here...

BTW do you understand how voter registration works? They pay people to go door to door, their pay is based on performance so as usual with minimum wage slackers many try to beat the system by turning in jacked up registration forms hoping they slip through long enough for a payday. Acorn then reviews them and divides them into three sections, verified, incomplete and questionable. Some states allow them to toss the last group but several (oddly enough the same states where "fraud" is being investigated) require them to turn all of the forms in regardless of whether they are complete or completly bogus. At worst what your looking at is registration fraud not voter fraud...they are two different things.

Acorns work is in the inner city and mostly with youth in fact over 2/3'rds of their registrants are minority and half of those are between 18-23. well firstly the usa is not my country, but yes i've visited most countries at some time or another, many countries have great things to offer but i loved the real patriotism and the way so many people are openly proud to be americans, it didnt matter who was in power and wether they were good or bad they just loved their country even if they hated their government, that was very refreshing living as i do in a country where we hate it because of our government instead of loving it despite of them.
