All my old backed up discs work great... however nothing new that I backup works with consistency, and I can't figure this out. It's basically a brand new Wii, modded with a D29Pro. I can power up with Wii Sports in, then switch to like, Mario Kart Wii... it will work 50% of the time, however, if I take the disc out, and put ANY newly burned disc back in... none of them work. If I put an old disc in... no problem. Clearly this is a media issue, because I have 1 new disc that always works, and it's a FujiFilm 4X... and I don't have anymore of those.

I have tried old Verbatim -R's, new Verbatim's, WinDATA -R's, OptoDisc -R's... I've tried 2x, 4x, 6x, 8x, and 16X... I have made SO MANY coasters at this point... yet all the old ones are great, and the one new one... it's like luck based or something? I've tried Nero, and IMGBurn. I have tried multiple burners as well, a Sony DWQ120AB2, and a Samsung SH-S182M.

Can anyone recommend some help? I'm incredibly frustrated.

Taio Yuden (http://www.meritline.com/taiyo-yuden-16x-dvd-r-media-silver-thermal.html) can't go wrong if you use these

Maybe your drive laser is getting weak!! can't really see how none of the discs work. I use Verbatim and Maxell, burn at 4x with imgburn, 100% success

How do you force the burn to 4x?

I force mine to anything below 6x, it SAYS it's doing it in IMGBurn, but you have to look to the right of the status screen and it says what it's ACTUALLY burning it at, which is always 6x for my burners, unless I use old media, which I don't have anymore.

I am using a Pioneer Blu-Ray reader/DVD writer so maybe it depends on your DVDR drive!!

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping for.

Do you know if SSBB PAL, brickblocked, will work on an NTSC-U console?
