I live in California, and I'd like to know where the BEST place is to purchase a pre-soldered D2Pro + Wii Clip.
I'm going to buy a Wii during Christmas.
What chipset would it most likely have?
And what's the best chip for it?
Thanks in advance!

Why come back in a couple of months?
Will a new Wii possibly come out?
Also, what's better?
Argon or D2Pro?

Well, Nintendo might start up new batch for the holiday crowd to stump all the modders for a while. Some of the new ones now are even coming with black goo on the drive chip.
I think the D2pro will have more support.

Oh, and is there any way to get past this damn epoxy that Nintendo put on the new Wii's?
Or do I have to try and find an old D2C?

hmm....I remember seeing a guide for alternate points not covered by the epoxy, I dont remember what chip though... also, you can heat it up with a hair dryer and pick it off...

you have more chance of going to the moon on a pogo stick than getting the epoxy off with a hair drier , you could heat it all day with a hair drier and it would not make any difference . you will need a heat gun.

Actually, I was reading around and I heard that there has only been one report of an epoxy'd Wii.
And that most of them on shelves today are good.

The changes usually happen region by region. One region at a time. Sometimes it starts on PAL consoles first other times they start on US/NTSC consoles first. Eventually, the process will be carried out on all the consoles.

I heard that epoxy was actually a rare case.
Only one person has reported an epoxy'd chip.
Anyway, is ModChipCentral good?
How about FoundMy?
Which retailer is based in the U.S.?
